CAPE BRETON ISLAND ...

In elementary school geography class we learned about Cape Breton ... and finally, we're here!

Our plans are to explore the Cabot Trail; the only living Celtic-Culture in North America!  (As well, we may visit a few lobster villages and sample some. LOL.) We will immerse ourselves in this living culture of music, humour, art, language and cuisine ... for sure the cuisine! This area has hundreds of years of continuity.

The inland sea, Bras d'Or Lakes is spectacular.

The blue of the lakes in the afternoon sun!

The surrounding sea ...

We climbed some mighty steep hills today! Here, at last, KOA Seal Harbour.

Three thousand miles from home ... enjoying the Celtic culture in Cape Breton.

Glacé Bay on the North Atlantic ... 66 degrees today. This is a real working fishing community; not a gift shop nor restaurant in sight. Alas.

In North Sydney, complete cloud cover and 74F, the Newfoundland Ferry was loaded and sea bound.

Mark at North Sydney Harbor.

Lobster boats at the North Atlantic.

It was a good day; Sue and Wayne traveled the north Cabot Trail while Mark and I enjoyed Sydney and Glacé Bay.

Ta ta for now.
