SUNDAY, JULY 13, 2014

We left Wenona, Illinois at 8 a.m., 64F, continuing our journey home to Florida.

There's 1,114 miles to go. Let's put one foot in front of the other.  ;-)

Maggie was happy after I traded her bed for our sofa cushion. She could stretch out.

Last night I did the same with the other sofa cushion ... snugged it in the corner by the dining table. (As you see, she preferred the kitchen floor!)

During the night a strong thunderstorm system blew by. A loud thunder clap awoke me so I went to check on Mags. I couldn't find her! She had pushed aside the stair blockade and was upstairs at the foot of our bed! Apparently, she's feeling better already! No problem sneaking up the stairs!

Here's some fun stuff ...

Look again! These are NOT poodles. LOL. When I Googled this picture I found articles about Japanese people being duped ... buying poodles that were actually sheep!!!

What a cute smile! It's infectious.

Grin and bear it. LOL.

If you're happy and you know it ...

Say "Cheese."

Be happy. Be goofy.

Have a good belly laugh.

We decided to drive 465 miles today and stop in Nashville for a couple of nights. It's time for R & R. (And laundry!) We stopped at 10 to walk the dogs and stretch. It's 80F and overcast ... another perfect travel day.

Sue and Wayne have Aurelia and Tony (with Chessie) visiting for the weekend. They had a big storm with resulting power outage for 5 1/2 hours. Jim joined them for dinner last night! Sorry we missed all the fun!

Reflections on a 93 degree day. It started heating up at the Kentucky border as the clouds disappeared.

Blue skies over the wide Ohio River.

O-HI-O

We're finally past Illinois ... what a big State. Hello Kentucky!

The Tennessee River looked so inviting!

We stopped just 20 minutes before Tennessee. (There are no rest areas in Kentucky so we walked the Scotties at a Flying J.)

KOA Nashville was a welcome sight at the end of a long drive. Mark set up the cable TV while I put the A/Cs on full blast. (I thought he was hooking up the sewer so started a load of laundry!)

 It's hot hot hot. Whew!
