Maggie was a little apprehensive when we first walked into the vet hospital. It took her just a moment to figure it out. The vet tech put Maggie's hospital band on, took her collar off, and with no glance backward, trotted off, tail erect with the tech. Mark and I were surprised. Any other dog we've had would have been back pedaling like crazy. But not Miss Maggie!
Robbie sat on the truck's console and watched. When Mark and I returned without Maggie, he jumped into HER bed and went to sleep. What goes through their minds? How much do dogs understand?
Meanwhile, Mark puttered with a couple of minor RV repairs. Then, we went shopping. That's always "good for the nerves". LOL.
I read this quote today ...
and found it quite profound. Hmm.
The weather forecast for the next week looks chilly!
What a strange time of year for this jet stream dip!!! Maybe it won't be too hot in Florida? (Right, huh?)
We picked Maggie up at 6 pm. She walked out, two bare patches with orange stitches, but not large incisions, considering.
Maggie was happy to see her comfy bed and laid down for the ride home. Robbie was very interested and greeted her at the door. No running, jumping, playing and NO STAIRS for two weeks! It's a good thing we've decided to go home to Florida. It'll be easier all around for us all.
The shoulder area lymph node was removed. Maggie has a similar incision where a back leg node was removed. The oncologist wanted to compare the cells in each node.
The biopsy results will take a week! We'll be on pins and needles until we know for sure if Mags will need follow up care.
So, we will try and make 500 miles tomorrow. It'll depend on how Maggie feels, what the weather is like and if we get an early start. Ta ta for now.
