SUNDAY JULY 5, 2015

Good day! I'm getting a rather late start to my SUNDAY Blog. We were up early enough ... chores done, I began putting a coat of paint on our Pelican statue.

As you can see, the statue is old and weathered. As homes were built in our community, a stone pelican was gifted to the new homeowners. We inherited it from the original owners in 2000. They built in 1979, so it's 46 years old! Time for repair and refreshing.
I began with researching the pelican coloring and came up with a plan based on the acrylic paints I already have.
There is much to be done yet, but I've begun! That's it with every job isn't it ... just getting started!!!

About 7 hours later ...
VoilĂ  ...

We had plans for supper at the Hideaway tonight but Randy hurt his back (while he was sleeping!) and afternoon storms finished the idea. (Randy tweaked his back doing yard work last Thursday so this is a continuation.) Ouch.

So ... It a stormy night watching USA/Japan Women's soccer and NASCAR.

Tomorrow is Mark's birthday ... bowling in the morning and later, dinner at Oakwood Smokehouse (his choice)!
