Simplex duo arrived at 8:30 and nearly finished the front porch for us. Yet to be completed are roof shingles and gutters ... (eavestroughs everywhere but here)! An hour after they left, we had a brief thunderstorm that cooled it down into the 80s. Robbie and I sat on the porch and enjoyed the rain! There was a flock of 25 Ibis we were watching. They strut down the street until they find a nice lawn to poke into for grubs. Robs was fascinated. (He has been so good with all the different visitors a.k.a. workers, this week.)
Mark puttered about maintaining the water softening system. Every six months or so it needs some TLC. Our well water is tough on equipment.
I took this pic at yesterday's bowling fun.
It's a good picture, eh.
Randy & Dawn took Makenna to the Wooten Park water playground today. I bet they're all worn out from the heat, and fun. Ha.
About two months ago I bought 60" of big white pearls. It's taken me awhile to prep them ... oil and polish ... and hand-knot them. These hot summer days are perfect for puttering.
This is my newest eBay listing!
Sue phoned about 3ish. They had a great time at Jim's dock party last night ... 90°! Tonight, they are going to Rose's for a dinner party.
Happy hour was our back bar while Marky BBQ'd a pork loin. He's quite the chef now! We had broccoli and rice with cheese too! I ate way too much. Haha. Needless to say, it was good.
After dinner, Robbie and I sat on the front porch and watched the Cardinals. They are not trusting the bird bath yet, as the screened porch is now near it. Maybe tomorrow.
Mark and I are enjoying our lazy summer at home. We are getting many projects done. Do you know, that in 15 years of owning this house, this is our first entire summer here in Central Florida!
About 8 we walked Robbie and met up with Lynn & Lew. They invited us over for a glass of wine. Well, okay then ... and sat out back for an hour. Robs was invited too. Nice.
So, that was our day. Ta ta for now.
