MAY 14, 2013 - VISALIA, CA to SAN FRANCISCO CA - May 14

Wayne's Magellan system has the best route into Candlestick Park, San Francisco and we're ready to rock 'n roll for 233 miles.

Our KOA here in Visalia is rural, complete with crowing rooster !

On the road by 6:50 am ...

Now 10:15 and 47 miles to go. California's roads are in lousy condition ... very rough.

11:13 am, paid $25 toll, 19 lanes of traffic now funneling onto the San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge. Crazy traffic here !

Checked into the Candlestick RV Park, organized, then Wayne drove to Pier 39. It was 69 and breezy ... musicians, various entertainers, shops along the pier, bars and restaurants. Wayne spotted "Ben & Jerry's" ... it sounded good until Sue and I got our hair whipped into our ice cream!!! We decided on "Swiss Louie's" for dinner, then back to the RVs to regroup.

Sue & Wayne made calls and found Jerry at DeSoto Cab ... he drove us in his minivan and gave us a tour of the area.

The sea lions are real celebrities at the pier. Since the 1989 earthquake, they have made this home base.

Dinner was excellent ! We shopped, walked, found Jerry, our cabbie, who took us on the "Steve McQueen" hills from the movie BULLET. Chinatown is huge! Wish we had more time in the city!

May 15th ... Sue and Wayne are going into town this morning, but the four of us are doing banking and looking for a post office. OK, a couple of pics added regarding Bank of America in a dubious part of town. Randy went in as posse with Mark ... as you can see from the picture, there were only two little girls on the street at the time they entered the bank. Now look at the picture when they came out of the bank with cash. An entirely different street scene. LOL.

We will leave here at noon and head to Petaluma for 2 nights.
