MAY 13, 2013 - BAKERSFIELD, CA to VISALIA CA - May 13

Yesterday's cocktail hour resulted in a change of itinerary! We're off to see the Sequoia trees, 80 miles north. There was discussion and much sorting through Woodalls / Good Sam guides for "Big Rig" campgrounds last minute this morning.

9:04 am we were on Route 99 north to Visalia, California. Beautiful flowering trees line the highway!

Arrived KOA, ate sandwiches and popcorn then left for the forest, 40 miles north.

Randy and Mark said the Sequoia trees are "f*cking awesome". And we have to agree! Well worth the scary drive up 7,000 feet ! It was quite a hike to General Sherman, Granddaddy tree of the Giant Forest; but Wayne, Linda, Randy and Mark did it !!! Randy was stress eating Tostitos ... then he was on a mission for "real" California Orange juice ... as pictured below.

Mark took a cool pic of an alligator cloud ... well, I guess you have to be from Florida to appreciate it. LOL.

Pizza party at the campground tonight ! Restrategizing the San Francisco sites, we have decided on Candlestick RV Park for 1 night, then onto Petaluma for two.
