9:00 am departure from Petaluma. Sunny and 51 degrees ... 324 miles today.
Linda had company while having Cheerios! Miss MagPie, AKA Miss Moocher had a chair at the table. LOL
Winding, mountainous road, scenic, but NO GUARDRAIL and about 4' shoulder. Yikes. Passed through Willets, Gateway to the Redwoods.
Redwoods Highway is two-lane in many sections with plenty of blind curves! Wayne had to stop for two young deer crossing.
Roadway scenery is gorgeous. We stopped for lunch at a roadside gift shop. Sue made turkey sandwiches, then Wayne delivered coffee. Really! Picture below.
3:00 pm we cruised through Eureka with the Pacific Ocean in view. At 3:17 we entered a Tsunami hazard zone. Yikes.
It was a rowdy pizza party as seen from pics below. Randy brought out two fine wines he bought at Kendall Jackson. Sue vehemently protested Randy ... "Don't open that!!! Save it for a special occasion!!!". Well, Randy not only opened one bottle, but two. Much to Sue's dismay !!! We noticed she drank it instead of our usual swill. LOL.
Wayne very wisely retreated to his RV and walked the Shi-Zooms. Sue stayed and partied on with us!!! Apparently, in the middle of the night, she awoke thinking there was a Sasquatch about. We suspect it may have been Wayne snoring. LOL.
You guys are true road warriors. The countryside is beautiful but the narrow roads are dangerous. Glad you are all experienced drivers.
