Crossed South Saskatchewan River, bigger than expected!

BANFF - MAY 31st, 2013
Breakfast at Melissa's Missteak in Banff was delicious followed by a walk around the shops where we all bought something!
Back at the camp, we saw 4 elk and then 4 mule deer ... photos below.
About 1 pm we drove to the Banff Springs Hotel, an old CNR hotel. We enjoyed walking around and seeing the sights. After, Mark chauffeured us downtown for more retail therapy and drinks at the Elk and Oarsman Pub.
Upon returning to camp, we came across a coyote, in the middle of the afternoon! Brazen.
Tonight we are going to Giorgio's Trattoria for Italian food. Linda and Randy stayed downtown and will meet us for dinner.
Dinner was great ! We walked on a few shops but home around 8 to ready for Medicine Hat tomorrow.

REVELSTOKE TO BANFF - MAY 30, 2013
Left Revelstoke KOA mud hole at 9 am following a night of rain for our 200 mile drive to Banff, Alberta. At 48 degrees the clouds are at highway treetop level. Julie is the only one who loves the rain. LOL.
Avalanche areas have snow sheds on the highway; photos below. A dozen on this highway!
Rogers Pass 4500' elevation sign; entering Glacier National Park; glacier pics below. :-)
Coffee break at 11 am in Golden. The rain stopped, just cloudy.
Time zone change, now 1:10 pm. A diesel mechanic at Columbia Diesel in Golden is checking a problem with the Prevost air suspension system. Sue made turkey and cheese sandwiches, so lunch was enjoyed roadside. Meanwhile, Robbie is helping Mark "drive". He's "super-helper"!!! LOL
Crossed Alberta border and Mark spotted a mountain goat at 5,400'. The Rockies are towering around us!
Lake Louise and Fairmont Hotel lured us in for wine and photo opportunity. The dogs went walking in the snow !!! Shorty was quite mad at Randy after getting his feet wet.
Arrived 6:00 pm Tunnel Mountain RV Village 2. Kurian's hosted cocktail hour while Randy made a delicious chicken Caesar salad. The "bromance" continues as Mark bammed-up the leftover chicken soup. Good dinner!
Elk and mule deer were grazing in the campground at sunset when we walked the dogs.

KELOWNA TO REVELSTOKE - MAY 29
9:05 this morning, Randy spied Sue walking past our RV from the baths She had a red and black jacket on with a black turban towel on her head LOL It was BLOG worthy Randy raced out the door with camera in hand, but, alas, Sue still has the moves!!! She can run LOL.
Fed Cheerios to the chickens for the last time ... said our goodbyes to the owner and neighbors and loaded up. Randy vacuumed ... in his new hard hat. Always lots of laughs in our RV with him around.
After Wayne visited his uncle, in hospital, we left Canyon Farms at 11:08 am for Revelstoke, 130 miles away.
12:12 pm passing Vernon ... 10% grade ... steep hill in the middle of the city !
The scenery is lovely; rolling hills and water backed by forested mountains.
Stopped beside Lake Shuswap for lunch.
Arrived 3:30 pm ... walked the dogs and Mark discovered an interesting, rather unique KOA setup. The campgroutoilets house was under renovation, and closed. BUT, the old toilets were lined up outside the door. LOL. Whatever, we're just here overnight! So, we had Sue's rum for cocktail hour. Mark, Randy and Linda went for bread and to fuel up while Wayne started the BBQ for chicken. Julie made garlic bread in the convection oven and Sue poured the wine. Voila. A picnic dinner! The guys retired to watch the final hockey game while we gals went to the Prevost for wine. A good travel day.

KELOWNA - MAY 28, 2013
Linda, Sue and Julie are having a treat this morning ... Manicures and pedicures. Nice! Randy has gone to Yoga with Rick Moir and Wayne has gone for a massage. Mark elected to bath Maggie and Robbie rather than try yoga!
Rick took Linda, Randy, Mark and Julie to Summerhill Winery, St Hubertus Estate and Cedar Creek Wineries. It was a great afternoon and we all supported the local economy.
Wayne and Sue spent the afternoon with Angie and Michael Wills and enjoyed a good visit.
Tomorrow, we're leaving Kelowna for Revelstoke and the high Rockies.

KELOWNA - MAY 27, 2013
Rick and Ruth cooked a beautiful dinner ... complete with gorgeous mountain and lake vistas. A great evening !!!
Now, today ... Randy is going for a massage at 10:45 ... we're expecting Michael Wills to join us for the day ... a wine tour and lake walk with Rick and Ruth Moir ... a fun-filled day in Kelowna.
Michael arrived with a beautiful bouquet containing lilacs for Sue and Julie. Heavenly fragrance ...
Driving Randy to his massage appointment we saw pretty landscaping in neighborhoods. Cascading roses on arbors, crepe myrtle trees, peony bushes, lilacs galore.
Linda, Mark and Julie did the needed shopping then got a message from Rick to meet at the Eldorado on Kelowna Lake for lunch !!! It was a nice lunch, but too rainy for a walk.
You'll be wondering why Randy is wearing a hard hat. Well, he's been banging his head on cabinet doors while cooking ... SO, Mark bought him a cooking hat. See pic. LOL. Randy liked it so well he was calling out to construction crews for work. Haha.
