HAPPY HALLOWEEN... 2015

Everyone had a great sleep ... despite two trains passing in the night. (All great campgrounds have a train track nearby, it seems!) LOL

Mark cooked bacon, eggs and toast for our delicious breakfast. I tidied up and puttered, while Mark drove RanDawn downtown for a few hours shopping. We'll pick them up about 1 and drive to Tybee Island for lunch at "The Crab Shack" ... with Robbie, of course! There'll be more shopping along the way!

Well, Dawn now knows the rule ...

don't leave your phone (camera) lying about when you go out. LOL. (This was a warning shot!) LOL

Good advice from our favorite Medium!

Did you know that Hallowe'en is a contraction of "All Hallows Evening" or "All Saints' Eve"???  It's an annual celebration observed in a number of countries on the 31st October ... the eve of the Western Christian Feast of "All Hallows' Day" ... or "All Saints' Day"!

We arrived at the Crab Shack, Tybee Island for lunch. There were cats everywhere! Robbie's head was on a swivel! Of course one big tabby had to sit under our table! LOL. Randy moved kitty with his menu. Swish! Ha. Meow.

Is that a new Harley shirt, Dawn?

Even Robbie got into the act ...
Hahaha ...

We came home for cocktails about 430, and ate dinner around 7 o'clock. It was Randy's chili over Mark's macaroni and cheese. A fantastic combination.

We were unsure as to parking downtown on River Street, so left home about 830. Fortunately, we found parking right on River, near the Hilton Hotel. We had drinks at the Shrimp House and listened to a local musician.

Our first photo was photo bombed by a waitress. It was quite hilarious, but then she came back and offered to take this picture. LOL. The ghosts and gravestones tour was a hoot. It was amazing to see the thousands of people in elaborate costumes walking around the streets. We're not talking children, but adults.

A portion of our tour was spent inside a 1700s mansion. As you can see, Randy was able to scare Dawn even with the lights on. LOL.

There was a crazy street fight between a couple of girls throwing shoes and yelling insults. We tried very hard to get a picture, but missed it ... our bus was cheering them on. Crazy fun.

The tour ended with a bang at a ship chandlers museum. It was funny, and one of the funniest things was hearing Dawn scream. Haha. It was amazing to see people walking around the city after 1 o'clock in the morning still in costume. It was a Halloween for the books.

Happy haunting y'all.  Ta ta til tomorrow!

FRIDAY OCTOBER 30, 2015

Boo! It's time for our road trip to "America's Most Haunted City!"

We were on the road by 9:15 ... not bad for getting 4 of us up and 3 vehicles jostled around.

Our route took us through the Ocala Forest and onto 40 to I95. Traffic was light. Our first stop was an hour later. LOL

About 12:30 we crossed into Georgia ... and stopped for snacks at the Welcome Center. It's a sunny 78F ... light traffic going north ... lots of RV traffic going south!

53 miles to go and RanDawn are asleep in the back seat ... Robbie's up front with us. LOL. (No stamina!)

It's dreamland in the back seat! LOL.

We arrived about 2:30 and checked into Site 14. After a few minutes setting up, we poured a "Welcome to Savannah" toast. Robs got a cookie and settled in for a nap while we went exploring the old historic area.

Exploring ... and a kind person took our pic for us. Thanks!

We walked and walked ... and decided upon Churchill's Pub for a round and hors d'oeuvres. Artichoke Dip and Pita ... Nachos and Cheese ... just about filled us up.

Cheers! Churchill's Pub in Savannah.

The streets are laid with old ballast balls from 16th century ships; and difficult to walk on. Often staircases range from 6" steps to 18". LOL.

18" steps to the psychic's ... ("I see you have joint distress in your future!") LOL

After supper of Mark's fantabulous Mac 'n Cheese, two of us took Robbie for a walk ...

and two collapsed onto the sofa! No stamina! LOL.

Well, it's 8:15 ... and 50% of us have had it. LOL. (Diane said last Christmas that Mark and I are too much for our pals!) Ha ha. Well, tomorrow's another day! So Ta ta. It was fun!

THURSDAY OCTOBER 29, 2015

Good day! It's noon and the RV is 90% loaded already. Randy and Dawn will be over about 8:30 to load their things ... and sleepover for our "early" morning drive. Everyone's cooked a dish for our trip. Fun!

We'll be celebrating Halloween in old Savannah, Georgia. The official ghost trolley was booked but I'm betting we will find some fun bars along the waterfront to haunt. LOL

Sue was THE bowler today, trouncing Greg in all 3 games. (I hear Greg weeping and Scott laughing!) Nice to see Suze was there too!

I went to game day at friend Elaine's house today where we played Rummikube. It's a fun game, but really makes you think. I won four out of six rounds ... LOL. (Mom would say "You won't be invited back!") Elaine baked pumpkin loaf, carrot cake and put out cheese and crackers ... such good snacks!

When I came home at 4:30, Mark had cooked homemade chicken soup which we enjoyed for dinner. It was great. Lucky me!

Jim posted a picture of his log home with the exterior lights on. Beautiful, just beautiful!

Most years, snow fall stays on the ground at Halloween. (It'll look awesome ... like a Thomas Kincaid painting! Thanks for sharing, Jim.

Rick, Ruth and Daisy are traveling through Pennyslvania today. Too bad they're getting remnants of "Patricia". It ruined a sightseeing day!

This is Ron, Rick's "big" brother. (I think Rick was his mom's favorite!) LOL. They visited Ron and his wife Ruth in Ontario, Canada.

So that's today's blab, er Blog. Hope you had a great Thursday!
Five cute ghosts say "Goodnight!"

WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 28, 2015

Another month nearly flown past ...
Our plans for today ... dental checkups and cleanings!

And, pull the RV out to load for two, back to back trips ... Savannah and Sarasota.

I was saying to Sue, yesterday, how Ebay  sales happen when you have other plans!   I'm certain we'll be looking for a post office in Savannah on Friday afternoon.

Hee hee ... I like this one!

My real estate partner, Rhona, and I did a "drive-by" hex on buyers who ran us around ... then screwed us out of our commission. (Believe me, what they did was unscrupulous!) Anyway, Rhona was in queue at a bank one day when she saw the former client. She spoke to him nicely ... and he apologized. He said since his niece got her real estate license (they bought the 3 new houses through her), nothing had gone right in their lives. LOL. I guess our drive-by hex worked. Hee hee.

I must send this one to my Ya Ya gals ...

For date night, we had supper at the bowling alley and played three games. The first game was my best; the second was Mark's best and the third, not so good. LOL. But, hey, we did it.

Awww ... see! Witches can be cute!!!

So that was our day. There's just not enough hours to get everything done that we want to! Oh how did we ever have time to work??? LOL

TUESDAY OCTOBER 27, 2015

Good morning! We're happy to be back into our lazy morning routine. LOL. Yesterday was great ... but there's nothing like a peaceful morning routine with a cup of coffee (or DSO) in front of CBS news.

Our rounds today included shopping at the local Humane Society resale shop, Home Depot and Walmart where Mark checked the security footage and found Yogi & Boo Boo foraging.

Mark thinks these two young adults are over 200 lbs. There will be no late evening walks now! Yikes. Mark found an article on a bear trapped in a Longwood (nearby) neighborhood weighing 740 lbs. Another bear, killed during the hunt, weighed 760 lbs.  B I G.

Rick, Ruth and Daisy crossed the border at Buffalo, NY today. Welcome back! I hope little Daisy is feeling better today after her surgery. She's a precious doggie.

Speaking about doggies ... Sue and Wayne are keeping a close watch on Julius. He's had seizures around the full moon in past months. Strange, huh? It affects people, so why not animals.

Randy and Dawn went shopping for a new bedspread today. They have their eye on one at TJ Maxx.

Tomorrow, we will pull the RV out and prepare it for our trip to Savannah Georgia this weekend.

So, that was everything today. Now it's time for a little TV and R&R.  Ta ta.

MONDAY OCTOBER 26, 2015

Happy happy happy anniversary! It's our 21st and we're on the way for a day's adventure!

Oh those redheads get all the attention!  Thanks Marky! LOL

This morning, we dropped Robbie off at Uncle Randy's and Aunt Dawn's at 7:30 in the morning and headed to the Space Coast for a day's tour of KSC. It was perfect weather, 82°F. For $46 each we saw America's space history covering 50 years! So much was familiar to us and I recalled President John F. Kennedy's speech regarding "going to the moon."

"To the moon, Alice!"  LOL. Standing in front of the Kennedy speech statement.

The Apollo mission was initiated by the Kennedy presidency although he didn't survive to see its eventual 1968 success.

So much news coverage I recalled watching as a child in Canada! I can only imagine the depth of knowledge the American children learned.

The "Atlantis" shuttle display was breathtaking. Our glee was trying to line up the Atlantis name in our selfie.

Believe me, it looks easier than it truly was. LOL

"You're allowed in here, but don't touch anything! Nothing!"

Oops. Sorry. LOL

"Oh oh Marky!!! We're in TROUBLE!"  LOL

Well, as you can see, we certainly enjoyed our day at the space center.  One full day didn't do it justice. We skimmed over much of it and missed parts of it entirely. It was a lot of walking.

When we arrived at RanDawn's, they had hors d'oeuvres and wine ready for us and we toasted to our good luck and 21st wedding anniversary.  We have so many laughs with those two. Of course, we overstayed, and were partially overserved. LOL

It was a fantastic day all around. We really enjoyed it.

Randy took this pic as we left for Kennedy this morning. Ta ta.

SUNDAY OCTOBER 25, 2015

Good morning! We had a visitor sometime during the night. Neighbors on both sides had their garbage ransacked ... and our bird feeder was pulled down, seed scattered but not eaten. (Wrong brand?) LOL

Did you see the date? TWO MONTHS UNTIL CHRISTMAS DAY!!! (It's time to put the tree up!) Yippee! (I can hear 99% of you groaning!) LOL

With Christmas in mind, I turned the Livingroom furniture around to make a focal spot for the tree ... beside the fireplace. Edges were vacuumed, areas rugs shampooed ... poor Robbie doesn't know where to lay down! You see, I moved his favorite coffee table to the Sunroom and brought the glass one to the Livingroom. In a day or two he will venture under the glass coffee table; but he's slow to accept change. Then, to add more insult, Mark bathed him. LOL

Tomorrow is our 21st wedding anniversary and we're celebrating by doing something special. Randy and Dawn are dog-sitting while Mark and I enjoy a whole day at Kennedy Space Center. The weather looks great 73/83. Nice.

Mark cooked pasta and Italian sausage for our dinner. He certainly is creative ... and I enjoy it. Haha.

Tonight, one of our favorite shows, Homeland, is on. Hopefully it's early to bed tonight as we will have a full day tomorrow! Ta ta.
