MONDAY JUNE 8, 2015

Yowsa! It's Monday ... already. Mark began his day by painting two dining room chairs. I began mine, by vacuuming; at least "picking up the pieces", as mom would say.

Yesterday, we moved the bird feeder that the squirrels were sunning and gorging themselves in. I thought it very unhealthy for them to be lying about eating corn and sunflower seeds. Where Mark hung it, only the birds can get to it. LOL. Now I've got three hungry squirrels sitting at door. LOL. So, I had to put seed on the ground for the squirrels and into the feeder for the birds. I want the squirrels to have a second place to eat, a backup plan!  They're like pets. Oh yes, the cardinals too! They wait for fresh water in their bird bath! It's cute ... the big red male cardinal feeds the young female daily and stands watch while she's drinking and bathing. Haha. They're great to watch!

Speaking of pets, do you like Robbie's new car seat?
It's absolutely fantastic. Robbie can lay there and gaze out the window!!! Perfect! He came along on our errands today to the post office, humane society store, Joann Fabrics, Petsupermarket, Dollar Tree and Walgreens. It's a whole lot more fun for him than being home alone. Either Mark or I stay in the car with him at all the stops.

We came home after shopping, tidied a few things, then Mark took a nap. I was sitting at the kitchen counter when I saw a dark colored SUV back up fast, past down our driveway and then swing into it and speed up to our front area. A man jumped out and walked straight to our door, something in hand. I called Mark and we watched. We don't open the door to any strangers. The man who wearing blue scrubs, rang the bell and stood quite a while, listening. When he got into the older SUV, Mark noticed three other men, all in blue scrubs in the vehicle. They drove past Lew's house and into Mike's driveway, two doors away. A different man went to Mike's door. Mike answered and the man claimed to be doing "advertising work" for an "allergy corporation". Mark and Lew talked with Mike and then decided to call the police. Mark got a picture of the SUV's license plate and gave it to the police. There have been recent thefts and a break-in during the past few weeks! So, we had an exciting few minutes!

It's HOCKEY night ... so ta ta til the morrow.
