SUNDAY MARCH 8, 2015

Robbie and I enjoyed the perfectly clear sky with bright moon for our jaunt this morning. (It wasn't intended to be one, just he's very dedicated to finding the exact place to do business!) Anyway, there were 3 wide, absolutely straight jet trails across the sky to the north ... like we tend to see after a rocket launch from the Cape.

Today's plans include attending Gene Johnson's funeral at 1 o'clock, then coming home for Robbie and going to R 'n D's to meet her family and enjoy a 4 o'clock dinner.

Yesterday, Mark got the "free" lawnmower to run!!! ($150 invested so far.)

Yaaaaay! My handsome lawnmower mechanic.

Aunt Jane and fiancé Cliff were at Gene's service this afternoon. It was good to see she was able to make it after a (minor) stroke two weeks ago. Hilariously, as she was trying to rise from the pew, she put her cane on Cliff's foot and hauled herself up. LOL ... Cliff laughed too!

Bedlam at Randy's ... 13 for dinner ... Mark suggested hot dogs next time! LOL  Randy was cooking Chicken Marsala, mushrooms, caramelized onions, mashed potatoes, gravy, corn & beans ... Dawn was assisting Randy and holding her breath while the youngest (17 months) tested her balance and climbing abilities. Yikes. It was a delicious dinner and great fun to meet Dawn's mom, Jan, sister Robin and brother in law, Tony, their daughter Lindsay and her wee mischief maker, Harper. Brandon, Mary and Lily arrived too. Brittany, Alan, McKenna and Charlotte arrived last. Robbie was mesmerized by all the little feet dashing about! He sat quietly under the table, out of the way. Haha.

Cooking and organizing ...

Tony, Hannah & Jan having dinner.

Randy, wobbling on the ladder when Mark suggested to Jan that she come stay "all winter" next year. LOL. Look at Dawn enjoying a good giggle. (Jan was a little hard of hearing at times, but NOT when Mark said that!) Haha.

Robbie, sizing up his opponent. LOL. He was good, but nervous around the little ones.

We arrived home about 8 o'clock, exhausted. (Randy will be sleeping late tomorrow!!!) Dawn works early tomorrow and the out of towners leave for the airport and home to Michigan on an early flight. They had lots to do ... and we were tired too.

Rick & Ruth apparently moved their beautiful boat to River Forest for summer haul out. So begins their packing ... from boat to RV.
We'll see them Wednesday ...

That's it for today. Good night and sleep tight.
