Good day, eh? It's Sunday ... the last day of deer hunting in Florida. Mark and Lew went about 6:15 ... a lovely 59F.
Mark took down the outside Christmas lights. Years past, in Canada, the lights stayed on a long time past New Years. I suppose it was just too darn cold to get outside and take them down! I remember seeing little sparrows crouched next to the Christmas lights on a cold winters night. I begged mom to leave our Christmas lights on all night so the birds could stay warm.
Siri said it's 33 below zero Fahrenheit in Winnipeg at 5 am. There is no wind; the air is dry and crisp. Snow crunches underfoot and the air is too cold to breathe without tucking your nose into a scarf. Car tires have a flat spot for the first mile they are driven; that is, assuming your car starts!
Parking lots have electrical outlets for plugging in your block heater! Without one, your car won't start at -10F and colder. Heck, I had a little British car, a Sunbeam, that wouldn't start once it got to zero. That car was not made for Canadian winters!!!
Webcam of Winnipeg at -33F this morning. You can see the steam rising ... car exhaust gets so thick you have to start slowly from a traffic light to give the exhaust a chance to dissipate from the vehicle ahead of you. As you can tell, I didn't like Winnipeg in the winter. That is why I moved to Florida! LOL
Downton Abbey begins a new season with a two hour special. Mark says he gave up his "Man card" and enjoys watching the series with me! It is the most popular series ever on masterpiece theater, public television.
The afternoon was busy with painting projects; Mark handling the Florida Room TV stand and me painting our French Country bedroom furniture. There's always something to be done!
Linda and Randy popped in at 4:30. They were out for a ride on their Harley, having been at The Hideaway for afternoon music.
