KENNEBUNKPORT MAINE ... FRIDAY, MAY 9, 2014

It's a cooler, cloudy day ... so we'll take all the doggies and go touring the south beach areas of Kennebunkport and Wells Beach.

Our first stop was Kennebunkport's Walker Point. There was a guard at the gate, and possibly an undercover agent patrolling the roadway. We stopped in our two vehicles; Sue walked Macy and I took pictured. The strange man with headphones was keeping an eye on us and a photographer climbing up from the rocks. Cool.
Walker Point ... Dubya's summer retreat.

Next, we stopped at Kennebunkport Marina. Wayne went in to talk boat business.

This town is from the 1600's ... full of character. Sue bought nautical dog rain coats! Cute!

We drove along #1 to Wells, just a few miles south.

Sue spotted a gift shop next to the Maine Diner. We went into the shop and then enjoyed a fantastic lunch at the diner! Before we placed our orders, Sue had to ask the waitress "Does the lobster smell real fishy?" The waitress looked a little confused, (a fish might smell fishy ... so could a lobster smell lobstery???) and said she had never been asked that in her life! LOL. I had lobster pie, Wayne and Mark had seafood chowder and Sue had a lobster roll ... all very fresh and good.

Guy Fieri is right ... thumbs up for the Maine Diner.

After a little retail therapy, Sue and Wayne headed back to the campground while Mark and I went to Wells Beach.

It was blustery with the ocean breeze and light rain.

Well's Beach, at low tide, was deserted on this rainy afternoon. Regardless, it was delightful.

After our big lunches, we decided to eat at home. Mark cooked some Deluxe Kraft Dinner (LOL), with peas and K's brought a rotisserie chicken. Add a glass of wine and, voila, dinner.

Tomorrow morning, we'll drive to Bar Harbor and spend two nights. It's a gorgeous region and good weather is forecast. :-)))

As you see, we have nothing to complain about in Maine when compared to the heavy storms elsewhere.
