Sue and Wayne headed back to the cottage right after breakfast, but Mark and I went to Shoppers Drug Mart ... it's a great store, with many well priced items. Anyway, the reason for mentioning Shoppers is we met a new neighbor who is moving onto our cottage road this month.
Terry, the new neighbor, asked us about our Dodge dually after noticing our fifth wheel hitch in the bed. One conversation led to another, and he has bought a fifth wheel and plans to vacation in Islamorada Florida this winter. He's going on the road north of Lake Superior and down through Sault Ste. Marie to Florida in the fall. Just like the Disney song says, "It's a small world!" LOL. Terry owns 800 acres in Vermilion Bay. Usually, he enjoys winter activities but after the extremely cold winter this year, he said he will never spend another winter in Canada! He has frostbite on his face to prove the cold. On his property, he found 40 deer carcasses; succumbed to the deep snow and extreme cold. (Our neighborhood deer were fed by a kind neighbor who put Alfalfa and hay out for them this winter.)
While we were at Shopper's, we noticed the water was inside the restaurant in the photo below from the "Miner and News". Sad, it only opened last summer. :-(
This afternoon, Wayne and Mark are raising the lake water pump. At the current rate, it could be underwater in the next couple of days which could mean no water service at the two cottages! Mark started the project while Wayne went for supplies!
I couldn't decide which cartoon went better with the idea of Wayne and Mark plumbing together ... LOL. I hope the water isn't off too long.
