WEDNESDAY AUGUST 19, 2015

Hello y'all ... Mark finished hanging our wee light over the black bureau! It looks great!

It's ladies luncheon day. I offered to drive and pick up four of the gals. Today's gathering is at the Lakeside Inn in beautiful Mount Dora. There were 16 of us ... and the Beauclaire room was lovely. I wanted a picture but forgot until lunch was over. By that time, the table was littered with plates and glasses. Haha. No photo!

There was a new neighbor, another Julie, who rode with me. She didn't know the area so I took the lake routes home along Lake Dora and Lake Eustis. It was fun being tour guide! We drove by the seaplane base and fun spots in Tavares.

Mark enjoyed his morning by taking "Mounty" to the forest for a ride.

It handled well and he found a doe and fawn on the jeep trail. Mark walked around for awhile and enjoyed the forest although it was 90F today!

We met at home about 1:30 ... and napped for an hour. LOL. It's a rough life, but someone's gotta do it. ;-)

Lew and Lynn popped in for a wine at happy hour. They are planning to take the train, Amtrak, to West Palm Beach in September. The price is right, $33 each! Lynn has a business conference at Embassy Suites.

Randy phoned, and is feeling under the weather, again, too! This bug we've all had this summer really hangs on!  Buddy Scott, talked to Randy last week and he was still coughing 5 weeks later! (Hack, cough!) Last night I slept two hours at a time before being woken with violent coughing spasms. NOT NICE! Nighttime is the worst! Of course I watched my favorite shows ...

It's on Friday nights ... History Channel.

Sue and Wayne were busy at their cottage having two white spruce trees planted. They had lost a few over the last couple years and were looking for some larger trees to plant.

I hope these do well !!!

Nice job! The trees have a few months to settle in before winter.

It's now 8:30 ... Thunder in the distance and time to relax with some good TV. Ta ta.

TUESDAY AUGUST 18, 2015

Good day, eh! It was a warm start to ours but Mark went into the attic before 8 o'clock anyway to move the box and extend electrical wire over the bureau. He was up there half an hour, while I was holding the bucket under the new hole to catch debris. When he came down, he looked half dead!

The "old" box was removed and wood  put in its place. Where you see the green tape over the tapestry is where the new light will hang. (I suspect he's had enough of that particular job for today!) LOL

Me? I ironed clothes for our September trip. Somehow, my wobbly ironing board tipped just enough that it sent the iron flying, twice! Egad, I didn't know ironing was so dangerous! LOL Mark decided on his attire for Olivia's wedding; black jeans and black cowboy boots. Well that certainly will be easy enough to pack. Ha ha. Ironing done, it was time to work on eBay photos and listings. It's a quieter sales day ... just one pair of earrings sold for $9.50.

Have YOU had enough of the political news already? The election isn't until November 2016.

Last Saturday was a couples shower for Olivia and Derek hosted by Savannah & Marshall.

This adorable picture was taken by Savannah!

MONDAY AUGUST 17, 2015

Good morning! (I've been up all night coughing and watching Ancient Aliens!) Lying down just produced a coughing fit. Geez.

Mark had a good sleep and felt very good. He took two packages to our friendly post office and went to Lowes for a sprinkler part.

Today, Mark took down a small chandelier that "needed" relocating. It was in the center of the foyer and will be hung over the entrance bureau by the big tapestry. I thought it an easy job but ... Mark has to go into the attic to move the electrical tomorrow morning.

Sue called this afternoon. Wayne's back is slowly getting better ... perhaps a quicker recovery after Larry F said he moved like a 91 year old man. Haha. Wayne didn't smile.

Shorty Hot-Pants liked Wayne's new footstool ...

Only SHP could get away with THAT this week.

Nephew Gregg & Darlene were expected to visit at K's cottage a couple of nights this week. Unfortunately, their brother-in-law (Darlene's) passed away yesterday after a battle with cancer. Their visit hinges on funeral arrangements, of course.

My job today was basic laundry and photographs of my newest eBay items ...

12mm Midnight Blue Swarovski Pearls with Sterling Silver ...

and 18-20" of Swarovski's Black Tahitian Pearls, hand-knotted.

You see, I wasn't idle. (Big grin!)

Randy and Dawn were hoping to play dominoes tonight, but we're still in recovery mode here! Maybe tomorrow!

How was your MONDAY?

SUNDAY AUGUST 16, 2015

Good morning world, our sun is shining! Mark was up first and cooked a breakfast of fried eggs and marble rye toast! That got me out of bed! LOL

It was hot and muggy with rain predicted for late afternoon. Mark puttered with a little tree tidy-up but soon came in to cool down. That was good news for Robbie as he got a much-needed brushing. Mark found one flea on Robs ... enough to cause an outbreak of bites. Vet recommended spray to the rescue!

Me? I repaired a few jewelry items and hand-knotted an 18" strand of black pearls. I'm avoiding the great outdoors with another bronchitis flare-up. (Last Thursday I did polish the kitchen granite but wore a mask and ran the exhaust fan.) You'd think I'd have learned a lesson after the spray paint episode!)

Our plans today include dinner at Tony's Pizza with RanDawn.

Mark found a cool bar idea for cruising to the Kendall Inlet dock parties!
Is this a project for Mark and Wayne next spring?

What a feast it was at Tony's Pizza! The XL Mediterranean was great ... and we brought some home; plus pizza bones for Robbie. LOL

Tonight ... relaxing and watching Ray Donovan and The Hunt with John Walsh. I hope your SUNDAY was great. Ta ta.

SATURDAY AUGUST 15, 2015

Good afternoon. It's been another busy start to the day! I packaged items for eBay sales, and Mark took them to the post office. What a team! However, there was a fly in the ointment ... the Haines Creek post office (open Saturdays) doesn't stick the $6.10 Priority Post bubble wrap envelope! "YOU have to order those online!" said the postal worker.

Round 2: Mark came home with that package ... meanwhile, I'd sold another item and had it ready to mail. I dug through my supplies and "found" a $6.10 envelope! My lucky day! So, Mark made a 2nd post office run with two parcels ... plus stopped in the humane society to shop. LOL. Well, he was going past anyway. What a bargain ... sell 4 / buy 4.  Haha.

Chores complete, there's a pizza on the Pizzazz Plus for lunch. Life is good. Oh yeah, and the Buffalo Bills are playing a pre-season football game this afternoon! (I shall entertain myself with a jewelry project!)

Randy called about 7ish. He'd had a busy day with lawn care, laundry and phone calls and was on his way shopping at Walmart. Wow, an overachiever today! Haha.

I made this Iolite and Quartz necklace a couple of days ago ... took pics and listed it on eBay, finally, today.

This one, Iolite & Swarovski, I began setting up yesterday, and today strung it. (Fiddly little bits!)

Robbie got me into a game of ball for half an hour. He certainly jumps onto the high sofa when he wants to! Haha.

Tonight, we're going to watch a little bit of TV and just enjoy the rain! We had such a loud clap of thunder it spooked us all!!! LOL.

FRIDAY AUGUST 14, 2015

Good morning! I wonder what today will bring?

Laundry ... that's what! Ha. At 11 o'clock we took Robbie for a car ride to Walgreens and then the bank in downtown Eustis. He certainly loves the high car seat! There's no sleeping in the car now; too much to see. After the errands were done, we headed home for a relaxing day! That's right; we're going to do "nothing" today!

Sue phoned this afternoon. Wayne twisted his back two days and has seen a chiropractor a couple of times. Now it's ice and rest ... and the pain. Hope it's a quick recovery Wayne. Meantime, a summer heat wave moved into the Kenora area with a high of 90F.

Rick M is back in Kelowna ... "home" yet "homeless". LOL. How does that work?  It won't be long until they're thinking about boats, warm breezes and Florida.

I'm sure this will make our piano man cringe, but cool, eh?

After happy hour on the front porch, a bowl of chili at the kitchen bar top and ice cream in front of the telly, it's time to sign off. Ta ta.

THURSDAY AUGUST 13, 2015

Good morning! It was a jump-start day as Mark had an early eye specialist appointment. He was poked, flashed and peered into and scheduled for laser "treatment" to reduce eye pressures. While waiting for the September appointments, he was prescribed eye drops. Gettin' old ain't for sissies!!!

(But take your meds!) LOL

At home, Mark began making a crockpot of Chili. Tonight, Lew and Randy are joining him while we "girls" attend Ya Ya's at Cindy's. Dawn is joining in the fun tonight. Cindy planned for a pool party but there's an 80% chance of thunderstorms! I guess we'll be indoors.

Well, we were not indoors! The storms passed and although it felt very muggy, we sat on Cindy's patio. After awhile, we sat with our feet in the pool ... or got in! It was a fun time with lots of laughing and yakking. LOL

Dawn, Pat, Sharon, Carin, Linda, Florence, Susanne, Moi, in the pool ... Rose, Lynn & Sandra ... missing is Cindy.

The guys played pool ... drank beer and wine, ate Chili and smoked cigars on the patio. Awesome!

Dawn and I arrived home by 8:45 and joined Mark, Randy & Lew. Lynn popped in 10 minutes later and Mark hauled the Sambuca out of the freezer. Haha. We all had more drinks and chili. Excellent. Dawn had to work tomorrow ... so the party (wisely) wound up about 10 o'clock. It was a fun time!
