TUESDAY APRIL 14, 2015

Oh my aching head. Ha ha. I was overserved last night! And the big problem was, I served myself!!! Yikes.

Jim sent pictures showing the roof framing going up. Great workmanship!

Clearwater Bay is still iced over ... but it won't be long until breakup.

What a fantastic view from this rotunda!

Randy called to invite us for ham tonight. Bob and Jill arrived with it! (Unfortunately, I'm STILL feeling awful.) Mark had great fun telling Randy just how awful. Haha. I went back to bed. Really.

We watched momma chickadee feed the babies today and then clean the nest. So cute! Pam brought that birdhouse for Mark's birthday a couple of years ago when she visited Canada. Along with a dozen other things, including cases of diet orange Sunkist. LOL

I had two small eBay sales today; a rearview mirror car charm, and silver earrings!

Rod and Shay phoned today with huge news! They've sold their Boca Raton home, closing May 1st. Plans are to rent an apartment for a year, near Shay's mom. Good for them!

That's our news for today. I hope your TUESDAY was good. Ta ta.

MONDAY APRIL 13, 2015

Good morning! We were up and rolling early ... Mark to the post office with 7 packages ... the motor vehicles for boat license and Winn Dixie for groceries.

Me? Laundry ... cleaning the kitchen and eBay paperwork. I "discovered" assorted computer paper and printer ink in my desk that I no longer use. So ... I bundled it and put them on eBay for $20. Haha. We'll see what happens. Just the ink is worth $30 ...

We've been hearing "cheep cheep" near our front door and discovered a Chickadee nest with wee ones inside a ceramic "house".

We met Randy and Dawn at the bowling alley for 330. Lane number two was a tough one today. No one could seem to get things done. It was a gutter ball day!!!

Having FUN.

Randy and Dawn came back to our place for Mark's excellent cauliflower and broccoli casserole with cheese. He cooked chicken and we had a kale salad. Afterwards, we played Mexican dominoes, and finished our half game from last week!

And that was it folks! Ta ta.

SUNDAY APRIL 12, 2015

Good morning sunshine! Well, actually it's cloudy. What's with that? Ha.

I spotted this on Facebook, and thought it quite funny.
Oh, the things you can do with wine corks! Haha. Wayne drinks "cork-worthy" wine, but in this house, it's "bag-worthy" mostly. Ha.

The Sunday morning news featured a fun story about a 6 month old PIG, Louie, who loves to learn tricks.

I wonder what the little brown dog is thinking as he gazes at his porcine classmate. LOL. So cute!

Louie was weaving through the obstacle course ...

racing (trotting) through the tunnel ...

and onto the jumps.

How cute is that! Louie is, of course, housebroken and rings a bell when he needs a potty walk. Love it!!! (I wouldn't feel right eating bacon for SUNDAY breakfast with a pet piggy.) :-(

Meanwhile, we had a lovely day at home. At 5 o'clock, we sat down by the water and enjoyed a nice breeze with happy hour ... and, our blue heron. LOL

At the luncheon yesterday, our friend Art told us about fishing at his dock, catching "Specks". A Blue Heron he called George, flew onto the dock as he began to fish. When he caught a Speck, Art fed it to the George. After weeks of doing this, Art found George could not eat any more than five Specks. LOL. Now that's a symbiotic relationship. LOL. (There you go Professor Miles! LOL)

Robbie, enjoying happy hour too!

After a dinner of chicken salad, we finished watching the Masters!  How about Jordan Spieth??? Yowsah!!! WOW.

I hope you had a fantabulous Sunday. Ta ta.

SATURDAY APRIL 11, 2014

The birds chirping woke me at 6 o'clock ... a nice way to start the day! Good morning!

Jim sent photos of his "Casa de Joyce" project.
What a tremendous view of Clearwater Bay this home will have.

But, will it be large enough? (Yes, I think so!) LOL!!!

Timber Kings is filming the construction. (We watched another of their builds, a small cottage in Newfoundland, yesterday. It's quite the puzzle to fit these massive logs together. Amazing.) The crane operator needs a calm, steady hand.

At 11:30, we met 34 neighbors at Hurricane's for lunch. It was a beautiful 86 today.

Some came by boat ... some "had" to drive. LOL. Our neighbors Lew & Lynn invited their pals to join in and ride over on their Crest pontoon boat. There was some karma about this morning ... Lew saw a squirrel jump off the boat as he got on to start it.

Lew cranked the engine ... but no luck! Upon investigation, the squirrel had chewed through the fuel line! LOL. It was karma, that's all we have to say about that.

At 4 o'clock, we met Randy at the bowling alley for "Pins for Paws" fundraiser. We bowled three games, bid on silent auction items and bought 50/50 draw tickets. It was a fun time for a good cause. (We heard it through the grapevine that Scott bowled 3 strikes in a row followed by 2 gutter balls.) Haha. Bowling seems SO SIMPLE, but it isn't.

We arrived home by 6:45 to a hungry Scottie dog. Tonight ... dog cuddles and wine in front of the Telly. Ta ta. Hope your Saturday was grand.

FRIDAY APRIL 10, 2015

"It's finally Friday I'm free again
I got my motor running for a wild weekend
It's finally Friday I'm out-of-control
Forget the working blues and let the good times roll"
(George Strait)

Well, good morning. I slept until 630, Mark until 645 and Robbie until 705. Oh yes, it's a dogs life! LOL

Today's mission ... deliver some donations to the Umatilla Animal Shelter and pick up tickets for Saturday's "Paws for Pins" bowling fundraiser.

Robbie came along to the Humane Society shelter with us. He loves a car ride!

Robbie visiting with Vic the Doberman.

At 4 o'clock we were invited to Lew & Lynn's for a swim. The water was so warm, already! We caught up on news and had a glass of wine.

Two eBay sales had us packaging and addressing items during our TV time. LOL. Otherwise, it was just a quiet evening.

Tomorrow morning we're going to Hurricane's for lunch by boat ... a flotilla from our neighborhood.

Ta ta.

THURSDAY APRIL 9, 2015

Good morning. It's another bright beautiful day in paradise.

After breakfast of leftover pizza, and pizza bones for Robbie, Mark took the Dodge for a ride to Randy's. They are going to replace the fan belt on Randy's Ford truck. (I hope Dawn is home to take pictures.) it might be a case of Abbott and Costello. LOL

Jim sent photos of the first day of filming at his new "cottage" on Clearwater Bay, Lake of the Woods, Ontario. As you will see, there is still snow and ice on the ground!

Jim, with the camera crew, and the frozen lake in the background.

This photo gives some perspective. That is the boathouse down below.

Meanwhile, at Sebastian Inlet in Florida, aBobcat was seen hauling a shark from the water.

This is a pretty good size bobcat, but not uncommon for the area.

wondered if this photo had been Photoshoped and looked into it further. Apparently there is a family of bobcats that hangs out at the boardwalk at Sebastian Inlet. And, no, the photo is the real thing. Many questioned why the bobcat would be hauling a shark by its tail. I'm guessing that the bobcat lunged for the shark in the surf and didn't worry about which and he caught. (Also, the bobcat's mouth would be too small to grab the shark behind the neck as a mountain lion might.)

The photographer of this picture, Chip Coleman, verifies that this family of bobcats hangs out at Sebastian Inlet. And indeed, here are three of them sitting on the boardwalk rail. Haha. Nice picture!

While Mark was helping Randy put a fan belt on his truck, I prepared and photographed three more items for eBay. Sales have slowed down this week for us. This afternoon, Mark picked up a few pieces of sod and covered the burned out tree stumps. Ze job is finished. Finally.

Tonight, we had the Pizzaz Plus out and cooked codfish on it. Delicious. And no oven to heat up the house! It's a great discovery. (Thanks again, Jim.)

Sue, Scott, Greg, Sue, Emile, Carol & Jack went bowling today. Here's how they did ...

Everyone's improving! And, at least we're off the sofa! Haha.

So that's it for today. We're going to relax tonight and watch the recap of the Masters. Ta ta.

WEDNESDAY APRIL 8, 2015

Good morning! I just watched the weather forecast on CBS This Morning and it looked as if a heavy patch of weather moved through Oklahoma City last night. Aurelia, Tony & Chessie stayed there last night. (It wasn't forecast yesterday!) I hope they are up and out of the region this morning!

Mark found a flea on Robbie this morning which he may have picked up from romping with Vic, the Doberman. (He likes BIG dogs ... LOL!!!)

So, it was haircut and bath day for Robbie Rascal.

He felt great afterward and went on a dog run around the house. Haha.

This afternoon we went bowling with Randy & Dawn! Fun. Fun. Fun. Mark had his HIGHEST SCORE YET ...

We all had respectable scores ... 138 is the best I've bowled with my "Birthday" ball.

So there's a great story behind the next two pictures. Randy ordered a pallet of sod and picked up half in the Ford truck. On the way home, the fan belt broke. Luckily, he was close enough to make it home.

So ... the Mountaineer was pressed into service to pick up the balance of the sod.

Hahaha. Look at the back seat!!!

After bowling, Randy & Dawn came over for salad & pizza ... and a half-game of Mexican Dominoes. Randy was in the lead! At 10, we paused to watch The Voice ... and eat chocolate ice cream.

It was a super day. Ta ta.
