SUNDAY MARCH 15, 2015

Good morning y'all ... Mark and Robbie are still asleep; Maggie would have been up with me ... I sure miss her happiness! She'd poke her head around the corner of a doorway and wait til she was noticed ... then come wiggle-wagging in. Alas. She loved us and we loved her.

So, it's travel day! Yay. On the road by 850, and stopped at the car wash for a little touch up. We stopped at McDonald's for chicken and to walk Robbie. There's always entertainment around the nearby hotel. Today, a fellow with green hair and a tattooed crack ho who couldn't stand still were flitting about. Whatever! As we were finishing our lunch, Sue phoned. It's going to be 87 tonight but feel like 92F. Yucky. Ha ... we'll sit in the pool!!!

Well, you'd think we won the lottery! Jim's house is grand!  After the cook's  tour we settled in at the kitchen table for wine ... and more wine. Oopsy.

After feeding Robbie and making sure he was settled into his new job as guard dog, we headed over to Sue & Wayne's for a "Partay"!  It wasn't perhaps supposed to be one, but that's how we, er, I roll. LOL. After the lesson in Italian had failed, Jim & Mark hauled me off home for 10 Calorie Sunkist Soda (good!) and to watch Jon Stewart before bed. Robbie did a very fine job of guarding the castle (yes, it has a turret) and two pricked ears were seen at the front glass doors when we drove up. LOL.

Maybe tomorrow will be a "normal" day. Oh heck. Anybody can do normal!  Hee hee.  So to all, I bid a very "Bella Sera".

SATURDAY MARCH 14, 2015

Good morning! It's a beautiful start with sunny blue sky ... and Jehovah Witnesses at the door. Ho-hum ... Robbie looks to us for guidance ... bark? No bark?  Bark!!! LOL

It was a good day for puttering. Mark began tidying the shed; it's going to be a project. The first thing he found was a power nailer; never used and never will be at our house! eBay! Haha.

I gathered and packed ... Mark loaded the KIA. Jim is going think we're staying a long time. Haha. Robbie is very interested ... usually he's back and forth to the RV with me when we're going away.

Randy called about 6 ... he spent his day in the yard / garden. He sure likes to work outside! It's part of his "therapy".  Haha. Dawn was working until 8 tonight; one of her long days. They were expecting Scott ... but he hasn't left Connecticut yet.

Mark and I packed our bowling bag and hope to challenge our South Florida league for a couple games on Tuesday. Sue has a bout of sciatica right now ... REALLY?  We'll see ...

Tonight, Mark and I went to Oakwood Smokehouse for ribs. Delicious! After, we came home to watch the Winnipeg Jets play Tampa Bay Lightening. Good game ... Jets ahead right now.

Popcorn anyone? LOL. Hope your day was good too!

FRIDAY THE 13TH ... MARCH 2015

Do you know what day it is?!

Haha! Good morning! We ALL slept last night ... it's going to be a GOOD day.

Mark began with coffee and clipping Robbie's nails. Well, yes, it IS that day ... he accidentally clipped too far down the nail and it bled badly! Poor Robbie ... but Mark felt worse. It bled for a long time! Finally, we had to seal it with a dab of Crazy Glue. It's going to be a day of walks soft grass.

Since I felt better, it was time to start house cleaning and laundry. Four hours later, I took a break. What fun. Not.

Tomorrow, we'll pack for going to Jim's for 3 days. We haven't been "down south" since January 2014! And to think we used to drive that twice a month!  Suitcases must be dug out ... haven't used a suitcase since Randy had hip surgery ... 2012??? Oh we've traveled ... but the RV doesn't require suitcases. LOL.

Speaking of Randy ... he may come south on Monday on "the bike" with Dawn and friend Scott. We'll see. (Randy & Scott have a ritual to perform for Linda's last wish.) Maybe we'll see him there.

Well, that's it for today. Ta ta.

THURSDAY MARCH 12, 2015

Good morning. I had another restless night with coughing, but otherwise feel a little better this morning. I must be 100% for Sunday's drive to South Florida!

Overnight, I sold two coats on eBay. This meant making a box ... folding them carefully ... packing ... taping, well, you can imagine the drill. All this while we're having breakfast and readying for a 1030 appointment!  LOL. There's never a dull moment in this house!

Randy and Dawn were at a birthday party last night for Dan's 1 year old grandson. The cake was a castle! Cute, huh?

We all met at the bowling alley at 10:15, for our 1030 group lesson with Willie. Mark bowled three games on his own alley next to us, and snapped the odd picture.

Perhaps we were a little challenging for him. Ha ha ha!  He's such a nice young guy ... and has a good eye for spotting trouble. LOL. Now, we have to practice for the next month, and then maybe a few more pointers; if Willie's up to it. Hee hee.

Mark and I came home for a rest, and to contemplate the lesson. I'm not sure about Mark, but I certainly feel asleep for an hour or more!

After lunch, Sue went bowling with Lynne Stevenson, Jack & Carol.

Good scores! Greg and Sue didn't make it today as Greg is home with a cold.

Mark and I met Randy and Dawn at Ichiban for dinner. It was my first day out since last Sunday! A record for me. Obviously I'm on the mend ... but nothing tasted as it should. Still congested?

Tonight, the "Empire" cast will be on American Idol ... so that's it. Ta ta. Hope you had a good day. Stay well. Oh yeah ... Atlas rocket launch at 10:40 tonight ...

Haha ... Great pic, eh!

WEDNESDAY MARCH 11, 2015

Good morning! Robbie and I were up for a couple hours ... sipping soda and snuggling. (I took "more" NyQuil and went back to sleep for a few hours.)

Mark took our latest parcel to the local post office where a customer was carefully counting her change to mail a package. Times are tough, I guess. After our chores were done, we decided it was time to drive to The Villages and return Pam's broken hair clips. Along the way, we stopped at a pawn shop and a recommended jewelry store to evaluate my jade ring.  (I sold it on eBay just to get it back from the buyer stating it was glass! She made quite a fuss in the eBay world. I now have clarification that it is indeed, Genuine Jade. Na na na na na naaaanah!)

Did I tell you that we've been invited to Jim's in Lighthouse Point for 3 nights? With Robbie! It takes a special friend to invite us with our dog! Let me reiterate a story, that happened many years ago, but that I've never forgotten. (Obviously!) LOL

We had sold our Boca Raton house with a coinciding closing on our "new" house in Pompano Beach. They older couple in the Pompano house just didn't "get it" that they needed to leave on day of closing! LOL, Mark and I had to physically help them move. This resulted in Mark and I needing a place to stay for about a week. We had a wonderful offer from Jimmy and Barbara, who had three dogs and two birds of their own (stay as long as you want) ... and of course from my generous mom, who lived in a condo. But, our dearest friends, who will remain nameless, said "If you'll put the dogs in a kennel, you can come and stay here for three nights!" WTF? Why did they say anything???  My dear, sainted mother always said, "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all!"  So, thank you Jim, for your wonderful invitation. We really feel special. ;-)

Hmmm, what was THAT about???  Haha. It's been a lovely day here! There are some thunderstorms about, but we managed a nice walk with Robbie. I feel a bit better tonight ... the morning always is the challenge. Hopefully I'm on the mend.

Ta ta til tomorrow!

TUESDAY MARCH 10 2015

Cough choke hack ... I gave up attempting to sleep. Jon Stewart's going to entertain me for awhile. Yuck.

Good day! It's now 10 am and I survived the night, thanks to NyQuil. Haha ... cough cough. Mark is making chicken soup for me; very nice. I'm going to just sit around and take it easy ... and eat chicken soup.

Diane called, happy to have Rick & Ruth visiting tomorrow for a couple of nights. Sorry to miss seeing them, but they don't  need this cold & flu bug along on their drive to Canada.

Mark took our income tax muddle to the post office today along with some plates I sold on eBay. (I have to note that eBay has very poor customer service! Not all goes swimmingly well ... and their support staff is awful! Just sayin'.)

It's a gorgeous sunny afternoon in the eighties. I'm staying in, however, but Mark took a turn about the neighborhood on the lawnmower. Haha. This reminded me of Diane. She removed the blade from dad's riding mower and went joy riding. Haha. Oh, the good old days, eh?

I managed a two hour nap which I hope may help me shake this. Sue called, Mark said, and is having a BBQ tonight with friends. What a perfect night for it!

We had pizza tonight, after a healthy "kale" Caesar salad. It was good, actually!

It's going to be a quiet, early night.

MONDAY MARCH 9, 2015

Good (wee hours) morning y'all. I believe this feels like a head cold. Yuck.

Good morning, again. LOL. I took some NyQuil and went back to bed, and slept quite well, apparently. I didn't hear Mark get up at 4:30 ... unable to sleep because of my NyQuil snoring. Hahaha. So sorry.

Anyway, except for a stuffy nose and the sniffles, I feel quite a bit better! I think a soak in the hot tub and a glass of scotch will pretty much knock this out of me! Well, something will happen! (Randy always says, "If it was good enough for Elvis ..."). LOL. Yep, drugs and alcohol pretty much did him in.

Mark went out to putter with painting ... came in for second coffee at 11. I'd been on the phone with eBay, trying to open a case against an unscrupulous, non-paying buyer. Odd thing is, this buyer outbid 4 others, so she didn't just "bid" by accident. Strange folks out there.

The finishing touch! It looks so nice and clean.

Randy popped in for a beer and visit undeterred by my sniffles. Mark put Robbie on the back of his bike ... poor wee guy was scared.

This evening, I feel very congested. Mark remembered seeing a strange cure on Facebook ... but hey, I'm game. Haha. So, Vicks on the soles of my feet covered by heavy socks ... I smell very menthol-ish. We'll see ... but I don't know what it can do for a raspy throat.

That's it for tonight. Ta ta.
