THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2014

Good day mate. We're a little bleary-eyed this morning but are off to River Oaks in Longwood for Miss Maggie's 11 o'clock chemo.

The vet is impressed with Maggie's progress. All bloodwork was good on today's CDC test, so Vincristine chemo was done. We followed up at home with the first of four follow-up pills. It's fantastic to have our rambunctious MagPie back from the brink!

Now, I'm doing laundry before we begin packing for our oceanfront anniversary RV trip. The weather sounds perfect!

Sue, Carol and Jack went bowling in Pompano Beach today ... and look what Sue bowled ...

a 173! Mark wonders if she's taking golf AND bowling lessons. Nice respectable score Sue.

LOL. This is my favorite cartoon today. Hahaha.

Meanwhile, Maggie is having her "slippers" trimmed before we hit the beach! Mark has many talents. ;-)

Rick M called from Canada and we caught up on news. They will be in Florida sometime next week in their new motorhome! "This life sure is fun" is Rick's blog.

Randy kept busy today with yard work. (Any more spiders?) Haha. Dawn had a long day at work and was tired too! Bowling was just too much fun yesterday!

Ta ta. Tomorrow's another day ...

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 22, 2014

Plans are to meet Randy and Dawn for bowling at 5 o'clock followed by Oakwood Smokehouse dinner.

It's a beautiful sunny ...

morning with a great forecast! Wow ... perfect for more RVing this weekend.

This afternoon we visited Home Depot and made our monthly contribution to their well being. LOL. 7 gallons of Behr paint ... and our house painting project begins!

At 5 o'clock we met and began our bowling odyssey. RANDY was the high score! HIS highest ever! What a birthday. LOL

148? Yes ... and that was Randy's score. (Three weeks ago he couldn't bowl a 60!) haha.

Birthday dinner at Oakwood Smokehouse ... complete with Chocolate Lava Cake.

It was a great evening! Very enjoyable. Tomorrow, Maggie has chemo so it'll be an early start. Hope your day was fun.

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 21, 2014

Good day! (I hope.) It's actually cloudy this morning in the Sunshine State.

Last night, Mark and I caught up with TV shows we missed while away. (Yes, we have TVs in the RV but we were doing other things I guess!) Diane and I had a gab and caught up on the weekend news. She and Kris met Randy's gal pal, Dawn when they went to dinner in The Villages. Both Diane and Kris said how lovely Dawn is and wonderful to see Randy enjoying life again!

We are off to Sorrento for Maggie's cold laser therapy treatment and then, we're going to Pet Supermarket for food and new toys for the kids! We actually have a reward certificate for a case of Wellness 95% Chicken! That's $35. Wow.

While we were in the vets waiting room, three cats arrived in carriers. The Scotties were very good! However, when Maggie was in the treatment room getting her cold laser, the cats were there for their treatment too! Maggie was woofing and talking to them. LOL.

Yup. My kinda salad. Hahaha.

LOL. Now that's funny!

After an afternoon siesta, Mark cooked a Tuna Noodle Casserole and invited Randy for TV dinner. We have a Sons of Anarchy to watch! Fun.

Randy arrived in time to walk Miss Maggie ...

And to bust Mark on a prank! Hahaha.

Last week, Mark hid a spider in Randy's sprinkler control box ... and scared the crap out of him. Apparently Randy KNEW who did it. Doesn't Mark look happy with himself. Hallowe'en will soon be here. Haha.

Night night ... sleep tight.

MONDAY, OCTOBER 20, 2014

Don't worry, be happy!

Sorry. But someone's got to poke fun at mass hysteria. ;-). Please, get your flu shot, wash your hands frequently and get on with enjoying YOUR LIFE.

Good morning from sunny 77°F Okeechobee Florida! After a lovely breakfast of Mimosas, baked egg casserole, hashbrowns, sausage and bacon we're packing up and getting ready to leave. This is a lovely KOA Resort RV park. The pools are beautiful, there's a "Shanty" bar, overlooking the golf course and everything is nicely maintained. I wish we had rented a golf cart when we made our reservations. It would've added to the experience! We certainly had a fun time!

I popped in Sue and Wayne's rig to say goodbye to the dogs and but was greeted by dog barking and Wayne on all fours scrubbing some carpet! LOL. We had a puke-fest in ours and apparently they had a Pee-fest in theirs. Poor Macy sprang a leak! Oops. And everyone had a wonderful time. Haha.

Sue and Wayne left at 10:45, to hook up the Escalade and head for Stuart where their motorhome is stored. We are still packing up, but won't be far behind.

As it turned out, Sue and Wayne pulled out with us. Here they are turning towards Fort Pierce.

Mark and I continued on past MacArthur Dairy Farms towards the Turnpike. We saw hundreds of contented cows enjoying the sunshine. A few groups were under shade canopies.

LOL. About 1230, we stopped at a turnpike station to put air in the trailer tires. When we left last Thursday the tires were 10 pounds low. Mark doesn't own a compressor with enough capacity to pump those tires. Maybe that's something we should look at buying?

Arrived 2:30 at home. That was a nice weekend away. We couldn't have asked for nicer weather.

After tidying up the RV, we had lunch and watched Revenge. That series is even more outrageous this season! I hope this is the final one.

That's it for tonight. Hope your Monday was good. Ta ta.

SUNDAY, OCTOBER 19, 2014

Good morning world, it's a brand-new day! Mark whipped up some cheesy scrambled eggs and fried bacon ... Sue and Wayne arrived with champagne and OJ ... and a breakfast party began. LOL. Hey, I did something! I made the toast, set the table and washed dishes. Haha.

Mark and I just sat down to watch the news when dear Robbie demonstrated "sicker than a dog"!  Poor guy. Poor us cleaning up 6 pukers. Yech. You've go to wonder what drew him to the CARPETING. LOL.

After carpet cleaning, I joined Wayne on their patio for an hour. It is a gorgeous day. Sue "hovered" as she calls vacuuming (haha) then joined in our patio gab. Mark surfaced from the TV (Miami Dolphins) and sat on the picnic table. Discussion led to an eventual RV trek to the National Parks. Guess that's my cue as organizer to begin the bucket list (again) of places to see and things to do. Our 2013 western trip was 40 days ... and 2014's eastern trip was 42 days!

This evening's Oktoberfest dinner was potato pancakes, salad, turkey, pork, or roast beef plus ginger cake. We had a band that included an accordion player. Of course he played many old polkas. Sue and Wayne were the king and queen of ballroom dance. We had lots of fun, and lots of laughs.

My Nana used to sing us a song about one sock up and one sock down!  And, here he is! Hahaha. Nice legs, man.

Sue can't handle anything over 70 dB. Ha ha Ha ha ha.

Mark had way too much fun, and waaay too much beer! LOL. it was a fun evening.

Ta ta.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2014

Good morning Oktoberfest. Haha. It's another beautiful day in paradise, sunshine and a gentle breeze. Today's fun is decorating Oktoberfest hats and making RV decor. There's a pet parade at lunch, poolside. I wish I had brought the dogs' Halloween costumes! DRAT.

This is a good reminder for all of us who get "too busy" to give our pets the love and attention they crave ...

I suffer the guilt of a "working woman syndrome". I wasn't at home for my dog Fred ... and should never have had a dog in my working days when I was away from home for 10 hours! I hope the fun-filled exciting weekends were enough for him!

Pets come in all different species ...

Hahaha. This congenial camel has the best smile! I love this picture!

After Sue and I decorated Alpine(ish) hats, we came back to our RVs to relax. Mark and Robbie had afternoon fun with his favorite toy.

Auntie Sue came over for a visit and a cold brewski ... tonight's fun is a social and dinner followed by BINGO (with big prizes) and a movie under the stars.

Dinner was German potato salad, green salad, rolls and smoked ribs followed by Black Forest cake. Delicious! We all played bingo, but not none of us won!

The Alpinets. LOL.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2014

Last night, Auntie Sue arrived and Robbie claimed her lap. LOL. That wee beastie is  in love with Sue. (She saw him as a little pup in Oklahoma; he must remember that!)

Wayne arrived a few minutes later with wine in hand and was greeted by Maggie. Both he and Sue said how good Maggie is looking despite chemotherapy. (She's amazing! Once or twice she tucked her tail under but that's the only symptom we've seen! Her blood work is very good each week. She must be tested weekly prior to each chemo.)

Maggie, enjoying the campsite. (On lizard duty!) Haha.

I was up at 5:30 and took the dogs for a little walk. The stars were magnificent overhead! The Scotties went back to bed, but I stayed up and enjoyed Facebook. Cousins Donny, Cathy and Barb are coming for a visit in early November! They plan to stay with aunt Jane and Cliff, but we'll see a lot of them. Fun!

Sue and Wayne slept in this morning, following a very long travel day. We have plans to visit the exhibits today and take in a seminar. (No, I am not taking my checkbook. Although American Express has worked well in the past. LOL)

4 o'clock hors oeuvres poolside.

We quickly regrouped for 6 o'clock dinner. Mark and I arrived at 5:45 to claim the LAST table! Apparently these folks just roll from one party to the next! (We all went home to feed our dogs!). The guest speaker was CEO of KOA, Jim Rogers, also star of Undercover Boss. He was quite funny, a very enjoyable evening.

OKTOBERFEST. Rah. LOL.

We came back to the RV's about 8:30 and sat outside with the doggies until the dang no-see-ums arrived. Haha. It was inside in a jiffy after that!

Tomorrow's another day. (Nan used to tell Sue and I that at bedtime!)

Sleep tight.
