THURSDAY, MARCH 20, 2014

Good morning! It's another pretty day here with azaleas in bloom! Spring has sprung!

Our neighbor has a well-treed lot ... the azaleas seem to like the shade ... and neglect. LOL. We fertilize ours and they're not nearly as nice!

Les and Lynne arrived around 1 o'clock and we sat outside until 3:30 catching up on news and events. It's great to see them.  Lynne has a book on the go so we know she'll be stretched out on the black sofa in the sun room. It's a nice place to read.

Lynne, Les, Lynn, Lew, Linda, Randy, Mark and I had good fun and lots of laughs around the bar; moved to the dining room where four of us saw 2 a.m. and a lot of empty wine bottles. LOL.

WEDNESDAY, MARCH 19, 2014

Good morning, it's a beautiful 74° and Mark is outside whittling away at a tree overhanging our boathouse.

Mark tossed a rope around the limb and secured it.

Just as I was getting in the shower, I heard a big bang ... the hunk that Mark cut crashed into the ladder. Fortunately, Mark was on the roof. I hope this concludes his whittling!

Today, we are invited to Linda and Randy's for dinner. We'll stop, with a load of yard debris, at the landfill which is "on the way". It's nice the Scotties are welcome; Linda enjoys seeing them and tugs Maggie around by the collar!  Poor Mags just looks up at me with big questioning eyes and goes along with it all. LOL  Linda definitely likes Robbie best ... always petting and talking to him. "The little cheese-eater!" as Randy says.

Linda and Maggie ... gettin' pats!

Tomorrow, Les and Lynne arrive for five nights! We have "Chili" planned for tomorrow night and Friday night (Lynne's birthday) we're going to Pisces Rising for dinner and to hear Alan Darcy. Hopefully, the weather will cooperate for Saturday's cruise to The Hideaway for the Humane Society benefit fund-raiser.

Getting chicken from Randy-man!

Randy's chicken dinner and roasted vegetables were delicious. Afterwards, we went to the Harley room to shoot pool. Randy smoked the table with two in a row, and then Mark woke up. LOL. The championship was on, and I think Mark won the next five or six in a row. It was a fun night, and Linda was participating with a few phrases and jokes. About 9 o'clock, we headed home!

Linda was having fun tonight! A little wine helps!

TUESDAY, MARCH 18, 2014

Good morning. We were supposed to have a rainy day, but the sun is out and it's beautiful ... the front moved down the peninsula to the Fort Lauderdale area!

This morning, I am doing the laundry while Mark went to Linda-sit as Randy wanted to grocery shop. He also had to go to the hospital, just to sort out Linda's bill. The hospital had overcharged on some items. No surprise there!

This beautiful photograph was taken with superimposed pictures over one another in a 20 minute time span.

Gorgeous, isn't ?

Mark arrived home about 4. I tried make a reservation for Marshall & Savannah's wedding but the KOA website wasn't cooperating! So, I tried to reserve by phone ... no luck there either! Why are the simplest things so difficult?  I gave up for today ...

Thursday, Les and Lynne arrive for a visit. We're cooking a batch of chili for their first night. :-)

Are you ready for the next ...
LOL. Hmmm, let's go for burritos!

Actually, we had pierogies with fried onions and kubie. Sue called, Wayne had been called for jury duty, chosen, but dismissed. It's odd, but both of them have been called in the last 12 months for civic duty.

That's it for tonight, I'm going to work on ancestry.com for an hour. :-)

SAINT PATRICK'S DAY 2014

B'gosh and B'gorra ... It's March 17th ...
It's the wearing of the green on this very rainy day. Weather moved in from the Gulf and will be with us two days! No boating to the bars this year. This morning, we did our shopping before the heavy rain started ... came home for soup and found our hats for tonight.

Mark's shirt matches his beer!

At 4 oclock, we went to O'Keefe's for our annual feast of corned beef and cabbage.  The inside singer knew my song ... the one i remember from "Sea Shanty songs" ... "in ELEMENTARY school" ... "Way hey and up she  rises ear-lie in the morning."  LOL

A new clock at our favorite Irish pub, at Wooten Park.

Tonight. We're snacking on almonds and walnuts that Ruth and Rick left us ... from the Okanagan Valley. They were delicious.

Tonight, we have a few good shows to watch; perfect for a rainy night !

SUNDAY, MARCH 16, 2014

Is it morning already? Ruby Street Grill was good fun last night. Although we were home at 10:30, we went to Lynn & Lew's for "a nightcap". LOL. ( I didn't need anything else ... but we were having too much fun to quit so early!)

Lew ... having fun!

A cute bar-fly ... he sat there for over an hour!

Al Darcy, the musician is booked at Pisces Rising while Les and Lynne are visiting ...

It'll be a nice (birthday) evening!

Here it is ... Our
;-)))

It looks like tomorrow maybe rainy ...

Randy popped in about 4:30 after his afternoon at The Hideaway. Nurse Pedro was on duty until 6 o'clock. Linda is in her own world now and unaware of her surroundings. It's sad. So very sad. Wednesday we'll be there for date night and have a visit then.

Tonight is good TV ... so I'm signing off. Ta ta.

SATURDAY, MARCH 15, 2014

It's a beautiful spring morning! Our plans were to have breakfast and go boating to the Hideaway for late lunch.

After eggs and toast for breakfast, Rick thought they would get on the road and visit New Orleans! It's a good travel day with clear weather so away they went about 11 o'clock.  It was nice having them visit; wish the dogs had gotten along easier though!

Mark, Ruth & Rick ... lookin' good. :-)

Today, Sue and Wayne are attending an auction where 11 of Jim's cars are being sold.

This is a beauty !

We went to Ruby St Grille for dinner and dancing tonight ... Lots of fun with 5 couples ... Yeah, we danced.

By the light, of the silvery moon ... Lynne 'n me ... A bright full moon!

FRIDAY, MARCH 14, 2014

Good morning. It's a gorgeous sunny day and we're anticipating Rick and Ruth's arrival. I told Robbie and Maggie they were getting visitors today and that a doggie, Daisy was coming. Ha ha ha. Robbie looked concerned and Maggie growled. Mark has a plan to divide the house in two. Of course we will start with a mutual walk and squirt bottle. It would be nice if the dogs could be friends, then Wreckenridge could visit during their Florida winter. Ha ha ha, you gotta love Siri !!!  Did you see the name that she gave Rick and Ruth ... It's like one of those awesome Hollywood names ... you know, "Bradgelina". LOL

Do you watch "Scandal"???  What good TV ... a series that will keep you awake! Olivia Pope is a fictional character ... but I wonder how close to reality ...

Another ...
Hee hee hee.

So it was a very exciting dinner party. We even had some very rare meat. Two grizzled Scotsman got at each other's throats ... and the short one bested the big one!!!  OUCH.

Rick's leg!

The dogs were separated, and everyone "seemed" to be getting along. But Rick couldn't have that, he had to have Daisy sitting on his lap.  "Cesar" Moir held Daisy, and Robbie took exception ... long story short, Robbie and Daisy had a face off and Rick's leg got bitten! Robbie and Maggie got banished to the garage for the duration of the evening. They were very very bad dogs. Ruth would like to express "No they were not bad dogs they merely had an anxious moment!"

Otherwise, it was a lovely evening with good food and very good company!!!

Randy headed home about 10 and we four sat in the living room and gabbed til midnight. It was great to spend time together!
