The Cardinal Rules of life, according to me. LOL

1. Make peace with your past. (What's done is done. You did what seemed right at the time.  Don't let the past mess up your future!)

2.  Live your life by your terms.  (What other people think of you doesn't matter ... and really, is none of your business.)

3.  Time heals. (Give it time.)

4.  No one else is responsible for your happiness. Only you!

5.  Don't compare your life to someone else's. They are on a different path.

6.  Don't over think it. Just do it.

7.  Smile and have fun. You aren't responsible for all the world's problems.

So ... today is just for laughs.

WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 22, 2014

G'day mate. We had a very good evening with Sue, Wayne, Jim and Randy. It went without saying that there was a void without Joyce. She had a special way of making every gathering festive and everyone feel special. We love and miss her ...

Wayne was well-dressed for the dinner party. LOL. Sue "made him" get changed!

Today, we were forecast a high of 64° with possible showers but had sunny skies.

We took a drive to Old Time Pottery on Commercial at 441 in search of a decorative wall clock for the RV kitchen. Maggie and Robbie came along for a ride and McDonald's lunch!

I bought a nice wall clock but forgot to buy batteries! Duh. Actually, I'd like to shop there tomorrow. (Today, Mark waited in the truck with the dogs.) Old Time Pottery holds great treasures ... and Mark is a good shopper!

Tonight, we are going to Bella Roma ... a favorite of ours!  Rose arrives today from the Bahamas and we are meeting her along with Sue and Wayne for dinner. Penne ala Vodka is my favorite. Yum. Rick and Ruth were to have joined us as well, but decided to spend the day in Palm Beach on their boat.

I found this neat way to hard cook eggs!

It was good to see Rose looking fit and well. The Bahamas, and her boat, are a good place for healing. Of course, Bella Roma's food was very delicious.

TUESDAY, JANUARY 21, 2014

Good morning y'all from South Florida! The forecast today is showers, and 75°.

My assistant Bloggers are snoozing on the RV furniture at this 7 o'clock hour! So sweet ... when they're sleeping. Haha.

Last evening, we took the Scotties for a walk around the entire Easterlin Park. A young couple were playing Frisbee golf. It looked like fun!

The Frisbee must hit the chains and fall into the basket to count as a "hole". I'd like to try a game but all our Frisbees have teeth holes in them! LOL

This youngster obviously has "original" joints ... my new knees wouldn't like that pose. Like I said, maybe Frisbee golf. :-)

We're off to Home Goods this morning for our retail therapy. (There isn't one in our area, fortunately!)

Our retail therapy was successful. I bought eight cork placemats withFrench scenes on them.

This afternoon, we sat outside amid showers, under the awning with the doggies. It was cigar 30. LOL

Tonight, we are going to Kurian's for dinner and meeting with Jim and his son Randy.

MONDAY, JANUARY 20, 2014

Good morning!!! After a great night's sleep, we were ready to tackle our day. Mark went for propane but, alas, got caught in a shoot-out crime scene traffic delay ... welcome to Broward County! :-(

C5 ... a good spot.

Meanwhile, I did 5 laundry loads, a lot considering we're only away 3 days! Towels, sheets, comforters were all in need of refreshing after company onboard; ready for next trip. (Sad to say, but Linda is now unable to cope with traveling. She was out of her element and agitated getting in our truck, or onto a shuttle and very anxious being in crowds. :-(  Randy did his best; "rewarded" with hysteria at McDonalds!)

Once Mark got back to the RV, I had finished laundry and we drove to Brandsmart to buy a 30" TV for our RV basement. After selecting a Samsung, we were not able to get assistance!!!
There were plenty of "salesmen" about, but NO HELP. After 15 minutes, we gave up and went to trusty Walmart. At Wally, we selected a Visio, 29" and asked at Electronics for someone to get it from "the back". "Dats me an we don't got none a doze." Mark was told. Alas ... Amazon.com it shall be!!!

Happy hour drowned our disgust at South Florida retail, followed by a lovely park walk with the doggies. Mark is cooking perogies, peas and onions, with sausage. Yummy.

On our walk, we saw strangler figs, with their roots wrapped around trees, forming lovely sculptures.

Mark and the Scotties are walking the area where I took pictures. Nice habitat !!

SUNDAY, JANUARY 19, 2014

Last night, Mark and I went to the Kurian's RV for after-dinner cocktails while Randy and Linda snuggled into bed to watch TV. About 9:15, I went to the RV to get an orange soda; opened the RV door and surprised Randy who was raiding the refrigerator in his camouflage underwear. LOL. Unfortunately, I didn't have my iPhone, so no picture. Drat.

Randy dreamt he was RVin' in a new Axis by Thor.

Mark was dreaming of a new 5th wheel. (Black is too hot for Florida!)

It was a sunny 51° when we got on the road this morning at 10:20 AM. Randy had trouble getting the Mountaineer started for their trip back to Tavares. Maybe he should be dreaming of a new TRUCK.

Sue and Wayne were out for breakfast when we left the RV park. They got on the road at 11:45 enroute to Stuart Florida.

At 3:20 PM, Mark and I pulled into Easterlin Park. It's beautiful ... weather is 70° and sunny. Our campsite is great; we love it.

Sue and Wayne just sent us a text and they are now in Stuart !!!

Mark phoned Randy and checked in. They are home for a few days before coming to South Florida for the big anniversary party.

SATURDAY, JANUARY 18, 2014

We got an early start with bacon and eggs for breakfast, then off to the Tampa RV Show.

Linda, enjoying some Tampa sunshine.

Randy and I stayed up yakking til 2:30 and were a little mentally challenged at 8 a.m. LOL. We made a good decision though and rented a wheelchair for Linda! Although she's capable of walking, this made life easier and kept her under control.

We covered a lot of ground today and Randy was able to go in a few RVs while either Mark or I took over the chair maneuvering!

It was a very good year !  LOL

NO PURCHASES WERE MADE TODAY, but a lot of ideas are spinning around in our heads!

We're looking for a restaurant near our camp and it looks like Ruby Tuesday's is it.

Ruby Tuesday's was lovely!!! A very pretty restaurant with nice ambiance.

FRIDAY, JANUARY 17, 2014

It was a COLD night but we're all up and ready for a day at the RV show! Robbie snuck into Linda and Randy's bed during the night ... smart pup.

We six spent 3 hours at the RV show and came home for lunch and to walk the doggies.

Mark and I found three possibilities ... but still like our layout best.

The Durango Goldrush was very nice for the price. A lot of value!

Then, we saw the Residential 40' ... $127,900 with show special of $98,000 ... truly a well-built, well-thought out rig. Hmmm ...

Sue and Wayne looked at some Prevost models and the much smaller Mercedes B Class. (Too small for them.)

Randy walked around with Linda but she wouldn't enter any motor homes. :-(

Just off the I-4 is some "Airstream art" ...

rather like "Cadillac ranch".  LOL
