THURSDAY MAY 7, 2015

Good morning. It's a beautiful sunny  66°F here in Central Florida. Our friends in Oklahoma City had a dreadful night with massive wall cloud tornadoes destroying everything in the path. Today is forecast to be more of the same. Roadrunner RV Park had major damage and RVs destroyed. Sad.

Tim and Cayann had a close call last night with a big tornado just 2 mile from their home in Norman, Oklahoma.

It looks just as bad on the radar tonight too!

The red is lightning strikes ...

Tim pulled a fire department vehicle out of the ditch after straight-line winds blew it into the ditch. The fire department escorted Tim to the casino where Cayann had gotten stranded. Fortunately, they got home just before the storm worsened. What a crazy state to live in. The weather is especially bad in mid spring.

On the homefront, Mark and I loaded up the RV and shopped for a few things at the grocery store. Sue and Wayne are stopping over tomorrow night, Rod and Shay on Saturday for lunch, Matt, Tiffany, Hailey and Isabella late Saturday afternoon. Sunday night, we're going to Sue's and Wayne's for the evening.

So that's our day. How was yours?

WEDNESDAY MAY 6, 2015

Good morning ... and Happy Birthday to my cousin Alastair Tawns, downunder.

Here, it's cloudy and 72F ... going to 84F this afternoon. It was perfect for pulling the RV out to load it for a trip. Yay!

We just talked to our "new" neighbors who have a 5th wheel. They are off to Kissimmee for speck fishing. I talked to them about a future trip to St. Augustine and Helen (Georgia). Nice couple ... Carol & Roger.

Who is this smiling guy at the helm???
The answer will be at the Blog's end ... but don't cheat. LOL

Mark did his daily post office run with packages ... three shirts this time and then other errands.

Me, puttering about. At 1:30 we went bowling. I need a new body. That's all there is to it. Haha. Mark bowled his best game ever ... 243!!! Yay. Rah rah.

Note that I'm not bragging about MY score! Yikes. Nothing worked today.

So that was our afternoon. It's happy hour now ... and Mark is cooking Cheesy Spinach chicken ... hmmm, think I'll have another drink! LOL

Ta ta. Oh yeah ... that's my ol' buddy Rick Moir (29) aboard his boat, Jadia at the Royal Manitoba Yacht Club.

TUESDAY MAY 5, 2015

It's Cinco de Mayo! Yay. This day will always remind me of Van Horne, Texas ... hearing music in the night air from the only bar in town. We were staying at the Van Horne KOA.

Good morning! Mark was away early to the post office and then to Randy's to water the garden for him. He and Dawn are in Costa Rica with the "hideaway crew" this week.

Mark stopped in at the Humane Society resale shop and found some treasures today! Just what this house needs, more stuff! LOL. I am into week two of sorting out my craft room. Everything is being sorted and bagged. Soon, I'll be reorganized! (I hope!) It's much more work than I thought it would be ... but knowing where everything is will be lovely!

Tonight, "no one" felt like cooking, LOL, so we went to Sinbad's for dinner. While on the way there, we saw a family of sandhill cranes crossing the road.

All the traffic stopped to let them pass. Papa, mama and baby crane. Cute!

At Sinbad's, we redeemed the gift certificate we bought at the Humane Society bowling function. We got it for $10, value of $20. It was a bargain for us!

Having a second happy hour at Sinbad's! Haha. This place has character! It's a very old double wide mobile home on a beautiful piece of lakefront property just off 441. You can come by car or boat. The ceiling tiles have all been individually decorated by patrons.

Perhaps they were white tiles before the greasy spoon opened?  Nevertheless, good food and prime views.

It was such a beautiful night, we decided to sit outside and have a third happy hour. Yeehaw. LOL. Okay ... that's all folks. Ta ta.

MONDAY MAY 4, 3015

Good morning. It was sunny at 8 o'clock, but has no clouded over. What's with that?

It's been a busy day, as Monday usually is. Mark was off to the post office with nine packages, and to pick up boxes for me to wrap two others. This is a freaking full-time job. LOL.

No one in Central Florida has decent sod for sale. Mark has been to three places, and the sod looks terrible everywhere.  I guess will have to look for some Saint Augustine grass seed.

Our pals Rod and Shay closed on their house sale last week and spent their first night, last night, in an apartment. I can imagine it's bedlam there today. LOL. After 42 years in the house, they sold a lot of things before the move but I'll bet they took way too much with them. I know that from experience!!! (We are still selling things from having owned two houses, plus living in the RV!) Ha!

Today, I had a dermatology appointment to check a spot on my back that popped up. Although the dermatologist scraped it off, or as she called it shaved it off, she thought it was nothing. But sent it in for a biopsy anyway.

Happy hour was lovely with a cool breeze  from the north. Robbie loves to scamper down to the boathouse's patio and sit in a chair. Ha.

Hey! Where's my drink? LOL

So, we've decided an RV trip is needed. FRIDAY, we'll go somewhere.

Tonight ... binge watching "Ancient Aliens" with Mark ... then Dancing with the Stars. Hope it was a good day for you too!

Ta ta.

SUNDAY MAY 3, 2015

Good Sunday morning! We were up and off to meet Jane & Cliff at Billy's Cafe for breakfast. Jane has suffered fainting spells and fatigue the past few months. A test finally discovered the problem area and she goes into hospital Thursday, hopefully for a stent. It was fun to see them. Clint has kept busy painting ... Jane looking after Sammy (who had bladder stones) and enjoying their new screen room that overlooks the golf course. Jane laughed when we walked in ... we were all wearing blue today! LOL

This afternoon, we decided to be lazy. The Talladega NASCAR race is on and Mark's so excited, he fell asleep! Haha. I continued sorting beads ... pounds of them ... and packing up eBay sales. This weekend, 6 packages.

Tonight, Sue and Wayne are going to Bella Roma for dinner. (This makes me wish for Penne ala Vodka! It's so delicious!) Otherwise, all is "normal".  Haha.

Sometimes you see the craziest things on Facebook!  Of course it's funnier if you've ever watched "River Monsters".

Hahaha.

Well, that's all I have to say today. How was your Sunday? Ta ta.

SATURDAY MAY 2, 2015

It's a Royal baby girl ... and the Brits are going wild. A sister for Prince George.

Actually, our American friends brought up the baby birth subject, so more than just the U.K. is excited. Hip hip hooray.

Good morning. Mark and I were both up by 8 o'clock, having had a good night's sleep. It's lovely and cool this morning with a high of 84°F predicted. We all had bacon and eggs for breakfast, including Robbie! Mark was pretty sleepy this morning, and made himself a pot of coffee, with no water. Ha ha! (It's a good thing I drink diet Sunkist orange as a wake up; it's easier to open the fridge and "crack" it.

Mark ran the sprinklers this morning for the new sod he put in last week. A root, (from the tree he cut down two months ago), broke the sprinkler line between our driveway and our neighbor's driveway! How does a cut down tree break a sprinkler line? Karma??? LOL

Hahaha!

Jim sent a few pictures from yesterday's build. His "cottage" is coming along beautifully!!!

The staircase to the boathouse is nicely stepped with landings spaced along it.

The floor joists are in ...

The rotunda's view ...

At 2:30, we went bowling with Lew and Lynn and played three games! We all did pretty well. It was a good time. We were home for the evening by 6 ... in time to feed Robbie.

Tomorrow morning, we're meeting Jane & Cliff at Billy's Cafe for breakfast. So that's our Saturday in a nutshell. It was a good one. Ta ta.

FRIDAY, MAY 1, 2015

It's "May Pole Day" ... a medieval celebration of planting, dancing and drinking. (I can't imagine why it's not widely celebrated in the USA!) LOL. Anyway, happy May Day ... or "Beltane"!

Well, there's a hilarious story from Randy to share. Yesterday, he was snoozing on the dock in a zero gravity chair, catching a few rays. Scott was still sleeping in the guest room.

Randy felt a tap on his side ... ignored it, (thinking it was Scott messing with him), then another tap. He slowly opened his eyes and saw a RAT SNAKE "standing like a cobra" poking him!!! LOL. Needless to say, he whacked the snake in the head and bent the chair getting out of it. Haha. It's a wonder he didn't have a heart attack!

Rose's boat (yacht) sold and the deal closed yesterday! Good job, Wayne. I'm sure it's a relief to have it sold before summer storage season.

Randy and Dawn are packing for tomorrow's trip to Costa Rica. (Randy's going to be looking about for one of the 139 species, 22 venomous, of snakes after yesterday's nightmare!!!) LOL
It's looks like a beautiful  resort, in the middle of nowhere. A perfect retreat. Have a blast!

Tonight, Mark and I went for Mexican at de Sol and then to the Eustis street party for a little exercise.

Hey, I match the decor! LOL. Dinner was very good.

We came home early and sat by the water with Robbie and watched the wildlife ... a pileated woodpecker ... turtle, squirrels, cardinals and lizards.

Robbie, at happy hour. 😏

So it's a new month! Enjoy!
