MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2014

It's MONDAY already?  This morning I got up full of ideas and began (mentally) redecorating the guest room. (If you recall, it's all Mark's fault! He put his bucket of tools down on the wrong spot in our attic while doing wiring last winter.) Haha. One job always leads to another!

The new bedding is on, wall paint bought, curtains ordered, fairy lights found ... oh how I love a project! Mark is so excited!!!

Well, maybe he's not quite ready to start. LOL

Mark had to get Lotto tickets for our weekly pool so I went along to browse at Hobby Lobby. I bought some fairy lights for the guest room and scoped out a few other possible items. 

Randy came for happy hour after a tough day at home. He packed for his Canada trip which included some difficult moments. It was good to see him. 

Tonight, we're just chilling out ... watching "Burning Man".  Haha.

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7, 2014

Good day, y'all. It's cloudy with a chance of rain. 

LOL ... a pretty good chance of rain. This gorgeous wall cloud photo was taken yesterday on St Pete beach. 

Last night's bowling was epic. Everyone did well in the first game but by the second one, injuries. Haha. Ya gotta be tough if yer gonna be dumb. The place was full of teens ... heavy metal music ... black lights and neon strobes. It was fun to watch the goofy show-off bowling in cowboy boots take a header down the alley; and then the nut in flip flops. Bwahahaha.

Our favorite horse rescue, Rosemary Farm Sanctuary received a $25 donation from Mark's aunt Jane in memory of Linda. Thank you!

The horses say thanks! Linda loved horses and, as a young girl, her bedroom was "decorated" with old harnesses, halters and a saddle. 

Mark is gearing up for archery hunting season. Every year he invites Randy ... but it's a definite "NO" after he saw Mark's chigger bites from walking through tall grass. Haha. Just the mere thought of a chigger sends Randy into fits of itching. Here's what they are and the remedy ...

There you go ... everything you'll need if you get bitten. 

We had a big thunderstorm ... Maggie jumped onto the sofa with me. LOL. 

She snuggled for twenty minutes and I loved it. 

Tonight, I made a big salad and Mark cooked a meat sauce pasta for dinner. It was a good day to relax at home!

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 6, 2014

Yeehaw, it's a little cooler this morning! 

Well, it was!!!

This morning began with a run to Bay Pharmacy to pick up Maggie's chemo pills. $170 for 100 2.5 mg capsules! That's a great price considering Leukeran is $11.69 a pill for 2 mg. Pirates!

Greg and Sue left for Pompano Beach this morning. It was great seeing them and wonderful they drove here to visit. Randy really appreciated the company. Too bad the Eustis street party wasn't on last night!

Apparently, the weather ruined a good pirate party. Aaaargh. 

The Scotties are enjoying some lizzie hunting in their backyard. It's so nice today!

Randy called and is dropping by with Diane and Kris! (Kris had hip replacement surgery on August 24th.) 

Kris is doing great! He's walking with a cane ... and is feeling good. Yesterday he rode a bike two miles! Diane was a good nurse; but noted, "That shit's all over with."  LOL. That's Diane. Haha. 

Tonight is bowling ... Randy has a sore elbow so has bowed out but Lew and Lynn are game. ;-)  I'm having a glass of wine to, hopefully, loosen up. 

FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 2014

Please, could we have some rain to clear this massive humidity cap hanging over us? I took the dogs out at 6:30, and it felt  yucky. Yes, that's a meteorologist's term. LOL

About 12:30, Randy, Sue and Greg arrived to go for lunch to Hurricanes by boat. It was a beautiful ride; the lake was calm. Hurricanes was very quiet, early Friday, but our food was delicious and we had a nice time. Storm clouds had built all around us as we made a run for the boat and zoomed into our boathouse with five minutes to spare before the deluge started. Haha.

So, the guys spent the afternoon shooting pool while Sue and I enjoyed looking at old family photos. I found a nice one of Randy's mom , Bunny. 

This being "first Friday", we decided to have dinner in Eustis and then walk around the downtown street party. To our surprise, there was no street party but plenty of people milling around downtown and eating at the restaurants. We chose the Mexican restaurant (great atmosphere) and good food. 

Mark and I said our goodbyes and came home to walk the doggies, while the three continued on to The Hideaway for a nightcap.

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 4, 2014

Good morning. Guess what day it is???

If you're a Facebook member, you're already aware of the 'rules'. If not, here they are. 

And, here's my pic of the day. LOL

Guess who? Yep! Chopping firewood in Fletcher, North Carolina. Mountain man Mark. LOL. 

This afternoon, Mark and I have dermatologist appointments. He's never been and I was last inspected 15 years ago. Oops!  

This evening, Randy is cooking dinner. Greg and Sue are coming to visit ... and they want to play Mexican Dominoes. Hey, we're in!!!

Poor Mark came out of the dermatologists having had a mole removed from a skin graft. Apparently, it's very unusual to have a mole come up on the skin graft.  I was lucky; the doctor said I have beautiful skin and whatever I'm doing, keep doing it. I told her my secret is alpha hydroxy skin cream on my arms and legs twice a week. (Dr. Christianson, my Boca Raton DERMATOLOGIST, told me the secret to longevity is a low dose aspirin every day, and alphahydroxy skin cream!) Since that advice was 20 years ago, I guess it worked. 

We stopped in to the pet store for another bag of Wellness food, and a new thin collar for Maggie. She's such a sweetheart; hope this is more comfortable for her. 

Randy cooked a delicious angel hair pasta dinner with homemade marinara sauce, cheese toast and salad. Key Lime pie for dessert ... ah, yes! Perfect. It was a great evening. 

We played half a game of Mexican Dominoes ... Sue caught on quickly ... Greg was on fire going out three times! Fun times. 

Tomorrow, boating and lunch, weather permitting. 

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2014

Good morning from Central Florida where it's hot and sunny, again. Today's forecast is to reach a high of 91°F. We're ready for a little fall weather, if you please. LOL

Mark went to Randy's house this morning to help with a few repairs. Those two are thick as thieves, LOL. The lawn mower was the first repair ... many issues ... then the jungle gym. Haha. 

Meanwhile, I'm home doing the laundry. Boo friggin' hoo. Haha. Actually, it's rather nice to be home without the TV on. 

Sue and Wayne called this morning, and were on the road quite early. As Randy is going out of town around the 10th of this month, they won't be stopping in our area. Maybe, depending on the date, Mark and I can meet them somewhere around the highway for dinner. It will depend on how Miss Mags is feeling. So far so good.

This evening ... Ichi Ban for dinner! A favorite of ours! 

I enjoy a game of Solitaire ... call me crazy, but I love to play cards, but Mark, not so much. Look at this turn-up!!!

No, I didn't win this one (three cards down) but that's the best turn I've ever seen. Ha. 

Dinner was great! We all came home for Sambuca ... medicinal. I was able to book Randy's flight to Canada ... a life celebration and a wedding to attend. It will be a good getaway for him. 

No dominoes tonight ... Greg and Sue are visiting Randy tomorrow; we'll play then!!!  Apparently Greg enjoyed last week's game. :-)

TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 2014

Good morning! Randy arrived about 8 o'clock to have coffee and pick up our lawn mower. He had taken the weekend off from chores but the grass was calling today. Haha. 

As we were having coffee, the crematorium manager called ... and the day took a decidedly dark turn. It was a very final feeling when the representative said, "Here she is." (Until then, I thought it a very compassionate process.) Mark commented that Linda was going home again. (Helpful? Or not?)

Haha. A truckload of dirt and a pallet of sod should handle it.

This afternoon, I began "fall" cleaning ... well, turning out. The donation pile has begun with bedding, drapes, curtains, books, dresses and shoes. I wonder if Mark has anything to donate?  

Our community is having a fundraiser ... donations are collected and auctioned off at a dinner function. I'm donating a 16 place settings of Christmas dinnerware. There are dinner plates, soup bowls, salad plates and cups. Our Christmas group has shrunk to 7 from 16. Last night I had my annual Christmas disaster dream. Basically, without getting into goofy details, I'm not prepared for Christmas! Yes, I know it's only September 2nd ... but some years I get this nightmare in July! LOL. I really am late this year. Ha!

Sue and Wayne are on their way home ... in Michigan tonight. The first RV campground wasn't good ... so on they went. 

Mark sprayed his bleach mixture on the roof this evening, so going to dinner was out. I was wishing for Ichi Ban. :-( ... maybe Thursday?
