FRIDAY, AUGUST 8, 2014

It's a lovely, "cool" start to our summer day, just 75F. 

Last evening's dinner at Randy's was fun. He made us lasagna with a side salad. It was very good. :-)

Randy, Darlene and Mark were having fun and enjoying dinner!

And wine! LOL

This evening, Mark and I are going to meet Randy and Darlene at The Hideaway for dinner. Pedro is booked for taking care of Linda, so it's a chance to show Darlene around. I hope the misters are working at the bar tonight! We're going to need them as it supposed to be 93!  

I finished working on the jewelry projects for the Sawgrass fundraiser. 

"Coral Sea" necklace and earrings set is one of my many handicrafts for the sale. 

Randy and Darlene ... music and drinks at The Hideaway.  It was a fun evening!

We had a cool breeze and lightening show, but no rain.

Tomorrow, I'm taking Darlene shopping to Hobby Lobby and for lunch. Tomorrow evening, she's in charge while Randy attends a friend's birthday party. 

THURSDAY, AUGUST 7, 2014

Good morning. It's another bright sunny day, 82°F. 

Last night, we had a rousing game of Mexican dominoes with Randy. Linda looked very weak and tired yesterday. She had refused breakfast, but did eat some dinner. 

Today, Darlene, Linda's daughter-in-law, arrives from Canada for a visit. She works with Alzheimer's patients and wants to visit and help with caregiving ideas. 

Darlene's Granddaughter Avery ... into "ketchup" now! She's so cute!

Darlene arrived at 1:10 PM in Orlando. We picked her up and went to Randy's for an afternoon visit. Randy cooked lasagna and we ate a salad with dinner. 

It was a great visit ... two bottles of champagne with a wine chaser. Darlene was upset with Linda's change since last summer. We've all watched the gradual changes ...

Family, the best!  We are blessed to have Darlene as one of us. She is so loving and caring; we don't deserve her.

WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 6, 2014

It's hump day and a beautiful day in the neighborhood. LOL. Let's have a day of odds and sods that I've gathered.

TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 2014

Good morning! Mark left home early for a round of errands and chores. There was a load of brush for the dump, an oil change which took 2 1/2 hours at the dealership, lotto tickets for our group and eye drops at the pharmacy. Oh yeah, fueling up and a Home Depot stop. No wonder he's napping now!

I managed the household chores ... then phoned Sue and Wayne. They had a great time with the family visiting and were ready and waiting for Larry and Maggi to arrive. The lake water is still high but it seems the weather has been nice. Party on!

Sawgrass Nature Center is dear to our hearts for their rehabilitation and care of South Florida's injured wildlife. 

Once again, I am creating some jewelry for their silent auction and novelty items for basket fillers. It's good fun for a great cause. 

Tonight, I made a super salad and poured wine while Mark whipped up Curry Chicken. It was very good!

Tonight, we're having. MORE wine, watching Telly and enjoying life. Ta ta. 

MONDAY, AUGUST 4, 2014

It's going to be a busy week! 

Mark put his electric tree trimmer to work today. There he is tackling the oak tree by the canal. 

The backyard is looking quite shipshape ... or, it will after we pick up all the littered branches and palm fronds. 

 

Our Dodge is loaded up and ready for a trip to the dump tomorrow morning. 

This afternoon, New South Florida Windows gave us a quote on high efficiency windows. After some negotiating, new windows ordered! It'll take 7-9 weeks before they're installed. 

Double hung, mullioned windows with 11% heat transfer should spruce up our place; and save energy dollars. 

Our pet stink bug moved to the car mirror when Mark took the cover off the truck. LOL

This sweet Scottie is Tubby, Robbie's brother, with his family's children. It really is the dog days of summer. Haha. 

Tonight, relaxing and watching TV after we eat leftovers. 

SUNDAY, AUGUST 3, 2014

Good morning! Here's hoping it's a lovely one where you are!

Today, Mark finished assembling our TV stand and I hooked up the components ... and they work! LOL. This afternoon we're going to Z's for a swim ... then they are coming here for dinner. 

Sue and Wayne have Penny, Ron, Kyle and Gavin visiting for the August long weekend. 

Shorty Hot-Pants looks like he's enjoying Wayne's wine! What a party animal. LOL

Julius is relaxing on the porch settee. 

We had a nice email from Jim today. He purchased a beautiful property on Clearwater Bay. Over the next two years, his new log home will be erected. It's great to have a dream project to keep one interested! Congratulations, Jim. We can't wait to see the lot and progress. 

About 3 o'clock we walked over to join Lyn and Lew in the pool for a "game" of volleyball. Floating about with a glass of wine was more accurate. Haha. Around 6:30 we four walked across the street and ate roast with all the trimmings. Randy arrived about 7:30 after an afternoon of music at The Hideaway. I fixed him a plate and we played a few games of pool. It was a fun night!!! Too bad Lyn had to work on Monday ... otherwise the partay would have really taken off. LOL

Lyn and Lew are going to join us for dominoes at Randy's on Wednesday night. :-)

SATURDAY, AUGUST 2, 2014

Good day, eh. We have no plans today!

Ancient Aliens this week was about Nicola Tesler. He was quite a prolific inventor with 300 patents worldwide. The show was so interesting. 

This, however, wasn't a good idea! Screaming monkies were great fun for a few minutes for Robbie and Maggie. 

But, as you can see, the Scotties broke the inside plastic box into splinters! Mark took some time to pull the bits out ... and to say, "Don't buy toys with "talkers" for dogs! There are lethal parts inside!" Good idea. 

Do you need a good worker around your property? Cousin Elliott highly recommends this fellow. 

LOL. Perfect, isn't he!

After finishing our Sunroom window cleaning mission we went shopping for a new TV stand. The old one just wasn't doing anything for the room!  Now we have to assemble it. 

This is the Z-Line 50" ... 

Our friend Cindy called ... their boat broke down on Lake Harris and they needed a ride from The Hideaway. Both Mark and I were ready to go but in the end just Mark went. There were four stranded and that way, there was more space in the  car!  So, our TV stand project was halted for the day. LOL

Sue and Wayne sent a picture of work done on Chippy's Hollow driveway. 

Six yards of fresh gravel and drainage! Great! This spring was a very wet one and humidity was an issue. 

Tomorrow, Lyn and Lew are having us over to swim ... then they are coming here for roast beef. (We need to have our project tidied up!)
